Not been able to find the 1776 jersey in “fat bastard” size. Sold out everywhere online except for the official players model (with name/number). Well, I obviously don’t need a trim fit so I just want the replica.

Took a chance on a dhgate jersey, which was delivered today. Ordered the biggest they had (4X) and lemme tell ya, it’s barely an XL. Fits my son (who’s close to a 100lbs less than me) nicely, so he got a new jersey out of the deal. Shame, because he bought one off the rack when we were at the game a few weekends ago. Coulda saved him some $.

I’m out a whole $25, so not a bog deal. I really shoulda ordered the 3X when I ordered my grandsons, when they first hit the team store. Didn’t realize the fat boy sizes would go so quickly. 🤷🏻‍♂️

While doing maintenance on some support systems at our local cable company (which happens to be where I get my internet service from), I mentioned to one of their techs that I needed to upgrade my cable modem because I was sure it was a bit of a bottleneck for my existing gigabit service (which I barely get 200mb from).

He advised me to hold off because they were moving to fiber by the end of this year. I've not seen any mention of it so far. I'm guessing it's more likely to be coming in 2027. Turns out, I get a free cable modem rental with the gigabit plan, so I got the free modem upgrade. Speeds didn't increase much, so I'm thinking the TP-Link Deco M9+ mesh system may also be a bottleneck.

I'd like to replace it with something faster, but I'd also like the replacement system to be "fiber-ready" (for lack of a better term), so that when fiber eventually comes, I'll not be buying yet another mesh setup. I have no idea what kind of fiber they'll offer or how much that may (or may not) matter.

Anyone have recommendations? I was close to ordering the Eero Pro 7 but wasn't 100% sure that would be ready for fiber. I'm very much a novice to networking, as you can probably tell.

Watching the game the other night, seeing the fielders graphic they had Gold Glove under both Wilyer & Cedanne. Got me to thinking, who was the last Sox left-fielder who won a gold glove?

Couldn’t think of one in recent memory. Thought maybe Rice, but no…of course it was Yaz (1977).

Why? Are Sox LFers discounted because of the Monster? Surely we’ve had worthy candidates.

Taking my grandson to his first Union game tomorrow (Sat vs Seattle). Anything I should make sure he sees/does. Got him a jersey for his birthday, so he’s set in that regard. Would like to have one myself but all the online shops are out of Fat Bastard sizes. Will check the team shop, but not hopeful. Might have to go the knockoff route.
