Question for US/ Aus paeds - zirconia crowns

Hi there

Those of you who do these frequently, how do you find them? What’s the case selection for these in terms of extent of caries and number you’d place for one child?

We use a lot of Hall crowns here - UK - and increasingly get parents who want something more aesthetic. I’m a huge fan of Hall crowns and they have great success rates too.

Purely from an operator and biological point of view from those who use zirconia, what do you think? Do they carry higher risk if devitalisation also with how much tooth removal there is? And do you need to do full caries removal prior to placing them, or can you do selective and get a good seal of enamel - I’m finding conflicting info on this too!

Shower/ bathroom placement

Hi there

I’d be grateful for advice on layout for bathrooms in the house. We have a three storey Victorian semi, currently:
- shower and toilet downstairs
- bath and toilet middle floor
- sink only attic

I’d like to change this to:
- toilet and boot room downstairs
- shower and bath middle floor
- shower and toilet upstairs

I’ve attached the floor plans with the possible version, really it’s deciding whether to go into the currently unused room behind the middle floor bathroom to get some space to add a walk in shower here and make that room smaller - we would use it as a laundry/ airing room. I think it would still be big enough to be called a box room. OR leaving bathroom size as it is and changing the study into a toilet/ shower. Our neighbours have the configuration of shower at the front. We don’t want an en suite.

Ideally, we need two showers in the house and a bath due to family size. Advantage of using the study is it can be a separate shower used at the same time.

Thinking longer term what makes more sense, to use space best and not lose a bedroom I guess - that said the room next to the current bathroom is a somewhat useless space but does count as a bedroom.

Additionally, what order to do this all in would be helpful to think through!

New (old) cover!

Not posted in here but visit frequently. I got into hobonichi only recently, by which time this cover had totally sold out!
I started thinking of ways to make one myself; dyeing PVC, embossing orange PVC, where I could take material to be made into a cover… and somehow manifested one coming on on Vinted for a reasonable second hand price!

I love it, it’s everything I hoped it would be 😁

Woodpecker i-scan for phosphor plates

Hi,

Has anyone used the woodpecker i-scan?

Looking for a new phosphor plate scanner for practice and this comes up much more affordable than durr mini scan. I also like it can go to an iPad to show patients/ parents much easier.

Hair product advice

Hi!
I just had a huge haircut and forgot how wavy and thick my hair is.

I’m looking for something that will keep it looking smooth and defined, almost like when it’s 3/4 dry.

I used some of my husband’s Revive which has worked ok, but it’s not my favourite scent. Anything else I could use along these lines?
