50 Mile Overnighter toThe End Of The World

That's the name locals have called this bit of state forest since before I was born. It has been a 'secret' party spot for generations.

This was my first time there. The trails are all loose sand, miserable to try to bike on. Lots of fishtailing and oversteering to try to stay upright. ATV heaven though. Set up camp and hiked most of the day instead.

Big beautiful nature ftw. Go out and get some!

Where does this wire go?

New to me 2016 Patriot. Noticed this loose bit, I assume it's a ground wire that wasn't reconnected when someone worked on it(?) Where is it meant to go?

2.4L, 6 speed auto, 97,000 mi

Road construction season hits different when you're on a bike.

Any alternative to pavement ups the adventure factor!

What's your favorite local 'secret shortcut?'

This footbridge is beyond a dead-end, behind a small town gas station/McD's. Cross the stream, climb the path, over some RR tracks and you're at the 'beginning' of another dead-end gravel road. Love the 'secret access' experience into a wide open gravel adventure.

A healthy balance of luck and stupidity...

Rode these wheels a bare minimum of 750 miles from new. Went to change the tires and realized I'd never installed rim tape. How did I not get a single flat tube in almost two years?!

Glengravel Ramble - tour Mid Michigan this weekend!

Still time to register for this fun event if anyone is looking for something fun and relatively cheap to do this Saturday. Lots of 'freebies' and $20 local business coupons included with your registration and the rest area is always PACKED with snacks and drinks. Not a race, so rollout is up to you between 8-10. Weather should be perfect for this, I'm excited to get the season going!
