If you haven’t done it, please take your Shiba hiking! They’re Japanese mountain dogs, they LOVE it! It’s so impressive how they can climb and scale a mountain so quickly :)

I’d love to get a friend for my 2 year old girl who’s the sweetest and best behaved Shiba. I’d love to get another girl based on how easy she’s been, but from my research it really seems 50-50 whether same sex Shibas will fight a lot.

Research normally suggests a Boy-Boy or Boy-Girl works the best, but i really love the temperament of Female Shibas. I’ve had a male Shiba before, as my childhood dog, and he was a bit…. naughty 😅 Significantly harder work than she is.

Post-spay, she actually prefers Females dog as they tend to respect her space more than male dogs too.

Anyone have anyone wisdom to share?
