I feel like some anime discussions have become less about the actual story and more about arguing over who would win in a fight. For example, whenever Goku gets brought up, people immediately start comparing his strength to other characters instead of discussing their personalities, character development, or what makes their stories interesting.

It's fine to debate matchups, but sometimes people act like a character is poorly written just because they're not strong enough to beat someone else. Not every anime needs to be judged like a tournament, and a character doesn't have to be the strongest to be well-written. I wish people could enjoy different series without turning every conversation into a power-scaling argument.
