Stereoscopic Success

after 10 years of incorrect diagnosises and treatment plans and 3 years of vision therapy. i’ve finally started to get stereo vision. it’s not perfect by any means but things feel clearer, more 3D, more spacious, and more stable. even regularly enjoying parallax. i’ve also had moments where egocentric awareness is happening to me as opposed to me trying to induce it manually- life feels more real. i’ve felt muscle tension that i didn’t even notice i was holding release. along with feelings of awe i’ve felt feelings of ease.

there is still work to be done but now i see the end goal. i feel so lucky.

Job Hunt and Mental Health

Hey all, it took me 2.5 years to land a full time job post grad and roughly ~300 applications. In the meantime I was freelancing and contracting to try to get more experience beyond my 3/4 internships.

I suppressed a lot of my emotions just to survive the situation but now that i’m on the other side of it I’ve begun to speak to a professional about the mental/emotional toll this took on me. Since this type of situation is becoming the new normal, I was wondering if other people faced similar issues with their mental health and how they worked through that?

For context, I found the experience to be quite isolating, helpless, dehumanizing, and I often felt trapped.

Birds

Just recently started getting some stereo vision back and I just wanted to make a post about how incredible birds specifically are to look at in stereo vision. the way they occupy and move through space is phenomenal!

Vision Therapy and Memory Recall

Hello! My BVD was induced by a concussion I had at 13 and I am 27 now. I began vision therapy 3 years ago and have been gradually gaining my sight back.

Ever since I started vision therapy I’ve randomly been recalling memories from childhood that I had since forgotten. Has anyone else gone through an experience like this while doing vision therapy?

Not worried about it, I just find it super interesting.
