What are your thoughts on Goransson’s score?

Ludwig Goransson is a genius. Tenet exposed us to what he was capable of and then odyssey. I don’t think the music is getting as much attention as it should. It was very important in all scenes where it was hard to understand if you tried to, but you to just “feel it” (as Nolan intended)

FYI, Ludwig is a three times Oscar winner for original score.

Not to draw comparisons, but how did you like the music compared to other Nolan masterpieces?

The controversial banner that killed the perfect ending?

There is a widespread discussion about the banner that was hoisted after the semifinals. A lot of people have noted that all the players who touched the flag have been either injured, or did not play.

FYI, Argentina players hoist "Las Malvinas son Argentinas" (The Falklands are Argentine) banner after the win against England, reigniting the 1982 geopolitical feud and risking FIFA sanctions.

Is geopolitics playing such a big role on the largest stage for football? Could this have played a role in what happend?

Is it such a terrible thing that e-bikes become an alternative for daily commutes? (especially for short trips)

I have seen this sub-red deeply hate electric bicycles / e-bikes. Is this fundamental bias against it due to perceived cheating (for people who use strava etc) or is it more because the current options lack something?

I have been questioning my commute and been looking at options I've not considered before (currently using ride hailing, hates cars and scooters, even electric). Came here looking for some answers but able to see a very strong bias against e-bikes. Just want to understand the reason.

Please share your thoughts!!

Rate my latest additions…

Just got my latest haul delivered, coincidently fits the current times.

Been thinking of reading more on politics. What got me hooked was “The Changing World Order” by Ray Dalio. Want to dive deeper to a foundational level (recs welcome).

Have kept “The Wisdom Of Life” by Arthur Schopenhauerfor afterwards just in chance I get disoriented.

What are your thoughts? Will rate the books one by one as I finish.

Translation of what Leo Messi said in the viral video were Argentine players look disturbed.

Spanish:

vamos muchachos tranquilidad gente, tranquilidad.

los principal estemos tranquilos muchachos

pensemos en jugar nomas eh tranquilidad

olvidemonos de todo

solo jugenomos

pensemos en jugar nomas gente

en jugar dale

English translation:

The main thing is to stay calm, guys.

Let's just focus on playing—stay calm.

Let's put everything else out of our minds.

Let's just play.

Let's just focus on playing, everyone.

Just play—let's go.

Argentina has been so good at keeping their nerves and if you notice they way they sang their anthem vs English and the final, there was a very evident difference.

Edit: What do you think happened here?

Is this the beginning of the end for the current govt? Or for our democracy?

Seeing all the videos of violence, thrashing and brutality, made me wonder about the India we were promised growing up.

Do we still have a way back? Will this still be remembered when it’s time to vote? Are votes rigged? Is tht why there is no accountability?

Hats off to everyone who got on the streets today. Accountability is at the core of a functioning democracy and it’s people like you, that ensure our voices are heard.

As an Argentina fan, that was a well deserved Spain win.

Throughout the tournament, Argentina has played beautiful football, managed defence, attacked aggressively (especially in last 10 mins) and in general, displayed calibre.

But yesterday’s stats was very one-sided including the gameplay. Did we even really touch the ball before conceding a goal? Did ARG downfall start with Lisandro’s injury? Enzo’s red? Paredes being on yellow which meant he played more conservatively? It felt like the Argentine attack was on a leash.

However, on the brighter side, what a team Spain was. Very threatening, delivered beautiful balls in the box, very good defence (especially in the middle).

Is the the transfer of power complete? Has the old legend successfully made way for the new?

Is it me or has every online retailer stopped giving bookmarks?

Over the last few weeks, I’ve bought books from Amazon, Crosswords (physical & online) and Atlantic and to my surprise, none of them, came with a bookmark.

I just came out of a reading slump and just got back on track. I’m I missing something here?
