I don't believe Meredith would have ever supported Callie taking Sophia to NYC

I think there is zero chance Meredith would have testified for Callie during the custody trial. The situation so closely mirrors what happened with Derek- he wanted to move them to Washington for his career, she was absolutely against it because in her own words her support system and village and kids life was happening in Seattle and she didn't want to take that away from them. I think it stands to reason that she would find Callie taking Sophia away from her life and friends and other parent equally unacceptable and I don't get why she was so baldly in support of Callie running off with Penny. Like it's wild to me that she didn't draw any personal parallels between her refusing to uproot her own children and Callie wanting to uproot Sophia and give Arizona minimal visitation rights

Confused by an unshown backstory

Okay here's my question. Several times in this show it is hammered into our heads that Richard Weber has spent his ENTIRE career in Seattle at the same hospital. It's also stated as a fact that before Derek shepherd moved to Seattle in season one, he had never stepped foot in the city before. His entire training and work history seems to be on the east coast (manhattan practice, hamptons house, brownstone, all family still living in the NE area except maybe for Amy).

Where the disconnect comes in for me is that it's also stated several times that Derek came as a favor to Richard/richard hired Derek as a favor to get him away from his marriage etc. This supposedly makes sense because their longstanding friendship is referenced. But like, how were they friends? How did they know each other if they've been on opposite sides of the country their whole lives, with Richard never leaving Seattle and Derek never once having been to Seattle? The medical community isn't really that small. A famous east coast neurosurgeon really wouldn't have that much reason to interact with the chief of general surgery at a hospital across the country, even taking into account medical conferences etc. I just really don't get it. I wish they had written in SOME sort of backstory as to why Derek/addie and Richard were supposedly so close

Really need advice on a French restaurant for a birthday dinner

Hi! Looking to make a reservation about a month out for my daughter's 9th birthday dinner- party of 5, 4 adults and the birthday girl. She really wants French food- I'm looking for a place that won't be annoyed at a well mannered child who likes to eat, nothing too "modern" as I think she would prefer classic French dishes (she loves French onion soup and escargot LOL) over a super cheffy interpretation. Not looking for a tasting menu or anything like that, just a cozy place with great food able to handle 5 guests. Would LOVE some family style options but this may not exist. Budget is generous but I don't want my mom to have a heart attack over insane prices even though we are paying. We're staying just south of Central Park (I know, tourists, but that's where my daughter wanted to be!) and would love to not have to travel super super far from there. I used to work BOH restaurants so I really really don't want to end up at an overpriced tourist trap as it will make me sad.

Thank you in advance for any recommendations!
