A small reminder about learning Import–Export: not everything has to be paid for, but someone's time isn't free.

There are honestly a lot of free resources available today to learn EXIM.

You can learn about documentation, Incoterms, sourcing, logistics, customs, HS codes, market research, and much more through government websites, trade portals, YouTube, books, articles,s and industry discussions.

If you don't want to spend money on a course or consultancy, that's completely fine.

Learn it yourself.

But there's another side that I think people sometimes overlook.

I've had people repeatedly message me privately asking questions about import-export—sometimes spending a lot of time explaining the same processes, sharing resources, checking things, and guiding them step by step.

There's nothing wrong with asking a genuine question.

But if someone is continuously providing their knowledge, experience and time, it shouldn't be treated as an unlimited free consultation.

You have two choices:

1. Invest your time and learn it yourself.
2. If you want someone to save you months of trial and error, respect their time and pay a reasonable amount for their guidance.

The information may be free.

The experience that helps you understand and apply it isn't necessarily free.

And honestly, I think that's a fair principle in almost every industry.

What do you think—where should the line between helping someone for free and professional consulting be?

A small milestone in my export journey: Coffee Beans ☕

I've always had a personal interest in coffee, so adding Indian coffee beans to my export portfolio feels genuinely special.

What started as an interest gradually turned into something I wanted to understand more seriously — the origins, varieties, processing methods, quality parameters, and what international buyers actually look for.

Today, I'm working with verified processors in India and building a supply network for Indian coffee for buyers in different parts of the world.

There's still a lot for me to learn, but that's what makes this journey exciting.

For me, exporting isn't just about adding another product to a catalogue.

It's about understanding the product deeply enough to connect the right Indian source with the right international market.

And honestly, I'm quite happy that coffee is now part of that journey. ☕🌍

For the coffee people here:

What made you fall in love with coffee — the origin, the processing, the brewing, or simply the taste?

3 Things I’d Keep in Mind Before Exporting Goods from India

One thing that becomes clear pretty quickly when you look at international trade is that exporting isn't simply about finding a product, finding a buyer, and shipping it.

There are several moving parts, but I think these 3 factors deserve particular attention:

1. Know the destination market.

2. Calculate the real export cost.

3. Consistency matters more than one good shipment
