Westport live bait

I visit our family’s property in Greyland twice a year and book Hula Girl trips. Last year I tried jetty fishing for the first time. It was sketchy, fun, but very skunky. Locals said to use soft baits. Usually white and pearl colors. 1-2oz depending on tide strength.

After 7 hours I caught a single sculpin. As I’m packing up a local climbs down near me, grabs live anchovies out of a bucket, gets three rock bass in 5 casts. Where do I get live bait from in town? I only saw frozen mackerel and squid in the place by where the condemned gas station was as you enter the marina.

PS: I asked the local, but I’m pretty sure he pretended not know how to speak or understand English.

Hookers and Blow shop was no help. The guy in there looked at me like I was crazy and just tried to push the shop’s tackle instead of actually helping me out.
