Do you ladies think Florence is SG?

Hi, SG ladies! I’m curious about your thoughts on Florence Pughes and her Kibbe type. Do you see her as a Soft Gamine, Soft Natural, or something else?

I personally go back and forth between Soft Gamine and Soft Natural. If she isn’t Soft Gamine, I’d probably say Soft Natural, because I do see some width in her. I also think there’s a misconception that all Gamines have to be extremely petite. A lot of the Hollywood Gamines we’re shown are very thin or even underweight, which can make the type seem much smaller or more delicate than it necessarily is.

I do see some Natural essence in Florence, but depending on what she’s wearing, she can look very Gamine to me. There’s something about her proportions that sometimes makes her limbs look a little shorter or her overall silhouette look more compact. I’ve seen Soft Naturals around her height who don’t read quite as compact or squat to me. I hope that doesn’t sound insulting because I think she’s beautiful, I’m just trying to describe the visual impression I get as accurately as I can.

One of my biggest arguments for Soft Gamine is her shoulders. Something I consistently notice in Soft Naturals, including myself, is more of that blunt, squared shoulder structure. Florence seems to have more slope through her shoulders to me, which makes me wonder about Gamine. There is also somthing about her frame and facial shape that reminds me alot of Sabrine Carpenter who is verified SG.

That said, I also think people can sometimes fall between two types visually, or have features that make another type work surprisingly well. For example, when I’m leaner, Soft Classic lines can work pretty well on me, even though Soft Natural is consistently my best fit. Because of my essence blend, I can also pull off some Romantic lines even though I wouldn’t say Romantic is my most flattering Kibbe silhouette.

Anyway, I’m really curious what you guys think! Sometimes I look at Florence and immediately see Soft Natural, and other times I look at her and see Soft Gamine. I know her Kibbe typing has been debated quite a bit, so I’d love to hear how you interpret her and what makes you lean toward one type over another. Her height is stated online as 5'4" but sometimes that can be wrong.

Why did my old therapist personalize so much?

I went to trauma therapy and somehow ended up with more trauma. She took my emotions personally, nitpicked them, and used them against me during vulnerable moments until I felt like I was constantly walking on eggshells. After I fired her, I sent her a few emails explaining how much she had hurt me. She ignored them, but as soon as I described her behaviour as abusive, she lashed out. Suddenly, she was saying she was scared of me, accusing me of harassment, and emphasizing that she had never had to take “measures” to tell a client to leave her alone before.

I feel exhausted and hopeless. Why is this woman so set on demonizing me? I’ve worked with other trauma therapists before, and none of them treated me this way. They didn’t demonize me, take digs at me, or make me feel like my emotions were something to be used against me. I’ve experienced that kind of treatment from school counselors before, but never from a trauma therapist. That’s part of why this has been so difficult to process. I feel like a dead woman walking these days.
