Good bug or bad bug?

Found this little guy when I was bottom watering my tradescantia today. It looks to be some kind of mite but I’m not sure which. Does anyone recognize it or know if it could harm any of my plants?

I keep this plant in front of a west facing window and typically water after the top few inches dry up, but I have kind of been neglecting it lately so the soil almost completely dried out before I just watered it today. It has a few crispy leaves but I think that’s just from the lack of watering and it otherwise seems healthy. I don’t see any webbing near it and the 6 other plants that I have around it all seem healthy as well.

Black/ brown spots on aloe

Hi, over the past few months I’ve noticed these black/ brown spots growing on my aloe. Could it be a sign of a pest infestation or fungus? If so, how should I treat it? The aloe is still growing albeit slowly but I’ve noticed that the spots are spreading to the newer leaves. I haven’t noticed any signs of pests or eggs in or around the plant as far as I can see.

The plant sits in front of a north facing window and I water thoroughly when the soil is completely dry. I used to have it outside on my porch in the summer which is when I first noticed the spots.

I have been spraying it with neem oil/ insecticidal soap as a precaution but it doesn’t seem to be doing much. Any help would be great, thank you!!

Could this be a sign of thrips?

Hello, I recently noticed these brown speckled dots on the sides of my monstera leaf as well as this brown patch on one of its vereigated leaves. Could this be a sign of thrips or some other insect infestation? Or could it be from something like underwatering or not enough sun?

I probably water around every 2 weeks and it sits in front of a north facing window. I have not seen any actual bugs when I checked the plant’s leaves or stems, though. Also, it seems to be growing normally and the new leaves look completely healthy (see pic 4). Thanks for the help!

What are these black spots on my aloe and how do I treat them?

Hi, these black spots have been appearing on my aloe for some time. I first noticed them when I had my aloe outside on my porch so I chopped most of the affected leaves and took it inside. I read somewhere that I should treat it with neem oil which I have been doing but it doesn’t seem to help. I am worried bc now it seems to be spreading and affecting newer leaves. I’ve had the plant for over 2 years and I would say that this started a couple of months ago. The plant sits in front of a north facing window and I water it when the soil dries out completely. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

What kind of bug did I find in my shark tooth cactus?

Hey, does anyone know what type of bug this is and how I could possibly get rid of it? I have been using neem oil (that’s what the white residue is from btw) but I don’t think it’s doing much.

I’ve had this shark tooth cactus for over a year and have had no problems with it, it is still growing new offshoots but does have some brown crusted spots on some leaves. I give it water when the top few inches of soil dry out and it is positioned with some other plants in front of a north facing window. It also has been pretty hot where I live lately and I’m not sure if this area is getting the best air flow.

I have had a fungus gnat problem in the past but these don’t look to be fungus gnats to me. A few months back I completely repotted all of my plants with new soil because of the fungus gnats so now I am wondering if the new soil was infested or something. This is the only one of my plants that I’ve seen these bugs in but I’m sure the rest are infested.

Please help, thanks!

What is causing this damage to my pothos and monstera?

Hey everyone, today I just noticed these green/ black, tiny streaks on my pothos (especially apparent on slide 2 near bottom of leaf) and some of the leaves have gotten yellow and are speckled with brown dots (slide 4). Usually I am very good about watering my plants when the top few inches dry out but I have neglected watering my pothos for maybe about 3 weeks and the soil dried out. I know that lack of watering can cause yellow, droopy leaves but could it also account for those streaks or do you think it could be from some kind of pest?

Additionally, I found similar streaks on my monstera as well as some brown specks on the edges of some of its leaves. Do you think it could be from an insect? (Please don’t say thrips or I’ll cry, thanks!)

Some additional plant info: I generously water both plants (both have good drainage) when the top few inches get dry (I also use a water meter) and they both get bright, indirect light. I’ve had the pothos for about 3 years and the monstera for a little under a year. I house these plants with 6 other plants in front of a north facing window.

Also, I started using neem oil on my plants a few weeks ago (doesn’t seem to be doing much though) but I believe those white dots are just residue from it because they appeared just after I began spraying them and I can easily wipe them away.

Kind of panicking right now lol so any help you can offer would be great, thanks!

TLDR: Today I found green and black lines/ streaks on my pothos and monstera, some pothos leaves are turning yellow, and my pothos and monstera have brown specks on the edges of some leaves. What could be causing it? Thanks!!
