Neat event organized by the Goldeneyes! Sorry not everyone got to attend :( Here are the tidbits from the event:

Cara was interviewed first. She spoke about how stressful it was for her leading to draft day trying to keep the team intact. She mentioned Bobo expressed a huge desire to stay so she had to make a trade to make it happen. She said to expect us to Be FFF (fast furious and fun) and she said that she’d like to have KK start with Jacques and see how it goes (but would likely be a coaches decision).

KK was pretty amazing. Very humble and appreciative of the crowd. Got a K-K Har-vey chant right away. Talked about her introduction to hockey (brother played, she wanted to, her stay at home dad let her eventually because she had hockey skates at her figure skating lessons or something like that). She is happy to be in Canada and has always wanted to live here at some point (maybe not forever but she’s thinking for a certain length anyways). She thinks Canada is passionate about hockey so is excited to play here. Really likes coffee, thrifting clothes, dogs, and cooking. She also says she’s been eating a lot of overnight oats and cited that as her guilty pleasure until they pushed her to at least mention a tv show lol (she said shameless).

Anyways. I those were the main things I remember for anyone interested. They gave out 500 player cards which she signed.

It’s a bit of a stretch time wise for me to make it down there. Is it worth it to see the stuff on Granville?

Japan fans use their blue garbage bags to celebrate during the game and then to clean up their mess when the game is finished. It would be such a cool sight to see patrons at the Coliseum leaving the place clean too. I don’t understand why we have this culture of leaving our cups, food etc on the ground in venues at the end of the game. I know some will argue it creates jobs…but are these really the jobs we want to create? What a message it would ultimately send the kids attending the games too. We care for our team, we care for our barn. Just a thought.

Regardless of whether the Goldeneyes and Victoire have some players poached today or not, they’ve thus far (mostly, noting Gosling here) survived the first two days of signings. What do you think that’s about? I’m just so curious but also just want to start conversations because if it was up to me, Sportsnet radio would be discussing this more but they’re not so I’m left with reading all the gossip, opinions and speculations on Reddit 😂

Seattle has so many players taken already and rumours have it they might lose Knight (I sympathize so much with Seattle fans right now 😞). Is that a reflection that we (Goldeneyes) didn’t have marquee stars other than Thompson (who I can understand why hasn’t been signed), Nurse, Jaques and Masch (who were protected)? Is it the salary of poachable players don’t make sense (Vanisova? Roque?) is it that they’re afraid of EFOing Gardiner because she’s very adamant she wants to play in Van and they’d risk a one year signing? I’m preparing for the worst (losing Gardiner and Miller) but hoping for the best. But I think I was just extra surprised the basement dwelling teams had so many players poached. Logic tells me they should’ve kept their teams mostly intact. (Actually I’m so confused by the rules maybe they can’t sign Vanisova).
