will the bunny crewneck survive the dryer?

I leave for college in two days and I really want to take this but if it does not survive the dryer I’m not completely sure if I should. Will the lace around the bunny come off? Asking for a friend, thanks in advance!

how competitive are club sports?

I played soccer for 8 years until I stopped in 2022. I want to get back into it at CMU, (I’m an incoming freshman) but I just want to know how competitive the tryouts are for the women’s team or in general for all club sports (I haven’t fully decided if I will try out or do intramural soccer instead).

Any input is appreciated, thanks ahead!

Rushing at CMU

I will be a Freshmen at Tepper in the fall and I am interested in rushing. Is there anything that I should know about certain sorority chapters before doing so (or just general tips)? What’s the hazing like?

If you are currently in Greek Life at CMU are you enjoying your time? Any input is greatly appreciated <3

Loosing Friends from a College Commitment & Leaving Home

I’m going to NYU as a spring admit (it’s an amazing school and I fell in love with the campus when I visited, but it feels scary since it’s far from my family in CA). But when my commitment was posted on my high school’s “decisions page,” it felt like half of my friend group didn’t interact with the post or with me. Only four of them commented (which is ~20% of them), and a majority of them reposted another girl in our group who posted hers after I had mine posted.

I also have no idea if any of them even applied to NYU. It’s only been about 10 hours, so I’m confused if I should be upset or just be more patient.

I’ve been supportive of everyone else: I was actually the last one to officially commit (the girl they were reposting was committed for a while) since I was originally waitlisted at NYU.

In my friend group, 3-5 are going to USC and 2-3 to UCLA (I’m not saying exact numbers in case they see this), so most of them are staying local, which is what I originally wanted too. I applied ED 1 to USC Marshall and was deferred, then rejected RD and again through an appeal, so ending up at NYU wasn’t the path I originally pictured.

I shouldn’t be completely surprised because I’ve felt neglected in other ways. When I was hospitalized again in April (and 6 other times before that), no one visited besides my parents, yet the group made “get well soon” cards for another friend who was hospitalized last year. I’ve been struggling with this health issue for the past year and a half and I’m not getting better. Thankfully, I already have an amazing doctor close to NYU who is friends with my current one, but I’m always used to having my parents by my bed. The idea of loosing that is terrifying.

I applied to NYU before most of this went down- this started in 2025, but I started to get better. However, even though I submitted the common app healthy I had a relapse right before decisions came out.

One girl and I have started getting closer recently, and she was one of the four who commented on my post. Since she’s also close with the people I’ve felt hurt by, I’ve been hesitant to fully let her in. But she always says the right thing if she notices I’m upset- like we sat outside for an hour during class to just talk because she knew something was wrong.

TL;DR

Got into NYU (spring admit) and I’m excited but nervous about being far from family. Posted my decision and most of my friends didn’t interact, which feels like part of a pattern where I’ve felt unsupported before (including during a past hospitalization). I’ve been supportive of everyone else, so I’m confused and a bit hurt. One girl has been kind and we’re getting closer, but I’m unsure how to navigate trust within the group. Wondering if others have gone through something similar during the college transition and how they handled it. Did you address it, distance yourself, or realize the friendships were just not what you that they were (or one-sided)?

is this a legit nyu organization?

Title, I recently joined NYU’s class of 2030.

I got this dm from an account called New People NYU asking me to download an app for a social network. Is this legit or not because it felt fishy to me? I know about the discord and the other class bio accounts but this felt random to me.

Hi, I'm committed to NEU Oakland for the fall of 2026! Which option is better: single vs. random roommate (in general or for my situation specifically)?

I was researching dorms and really liked Edge, Orchard Meadows, for space, but I was not a fan of how secluded the Hills residence hall was. While Warren may have communal bathrooms, I feel like it would be easier to socialize. Since there would be people around me 24/7? I'm an ambivert, but I want to put myself out there more in college. I currently have Cultural Engagement ranked first (Warren), Creative Innovation second (Orchard), and Health & Wellbeing third (Mary Rose).

I have a medical condition, so I will have a fridge and a microwave in the dorm. I've been in communication with the Office of Disabilities. I just need to send them a few more documents. I have anxiety about what my roommate might think of that, since I have good days and bad days (I would miss a lot of school due to check-ups). I'd love some insight from other students with medical conditions about their experience at Northeastern Oakland, especially with roommates.

I was only considering the random roommate process because I have not been successful in DMing others on IG: either they already have one, or we just would not be a good fit (the form is due May 7, so I'm running out of time). The singles interested me mainly because of my medical condition, but I'm worried I won't be able to make friends. I also plan to transfer to the Boston campus for my sophomore year.

Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated!
