Origami morse code with better legibility

I decided to try to improve the legibility of my origami morse code by making the space and dash more distinct. In this version the encoding is:

Dot = 1 length unit
Dash = 2 length units
Space = 4 length units

I was supposed to write “TEST CODE” but my morse is really rusty so I ended up writing “TEST COST”, oops!

Origami Morse code

I’m an origami artist from Finland. A while back I got a crazy idea (in the sauna) of combining origami and Morse code.

There’s several ways to do the encoding with origami. But this one is fairly compact, unambiguous and creates nice looking results.

Map origami

I saved a copy of the “Atlas of American Agriculture” from the landfill. Printed in 1936.

I’m an origami artist and love using old book pages and maps for folding. These two pieces are from the same page. The upper one resembles a compass rose. The lower is a topological mountain range.

I’m well aware that folding old maps might be seen as blasphemy over here. But I assure you that I treat each map with great respect and I do often feel bad when I put the first folds in.
