873 cars were relisted from eBay to BaT in the last year
and often sell for a premium
- This SLS AMG was listed for $360k and 2.5mo later sold on BaT for $470k
- This 296 GTB was listed for $208k and sold on BaT 10 days later for $270k
- This Land Cruiser was sold for $30k and then sold on BaT 3mo later for $71k
Of the top 100 listings that went from eBay -> BaT within 3 months, the median price jump was +46% (see below)
eBay had the most relistings, but 198 Cars & Bids cars and 168 Mecum cars were also relisted on BaT in the last year
Sharing because I thought this is pretty interesting - many popular auctions were sitting pretty on eBay without any action and at a much lower price for months, right before getting put on BaT
Edit: u/tonerocky made a good point that we should exclude eBay listings that went reserve not met. The revised price jump is +9% median and +40% avg. The 296 GTB went RNM, so I'll provide a better example: this Corvette that was sold for $105k and turned around 1mo later on BaT for $140k
