So instead of automatically discounting everything by 20%, you need to use a code. If they'd done it the way gymshark did ie an up to x amount sale sitewide, you'd be able to use another discount code but it isn't the case here since you can only use one at checkout. lmao what a scam, you could already use a 15% discount as much as you wanted so all you're really getting now is a shitty drop and an extra 5% discount which is basically an extra $5 saved if you spent $100+ (WOW!!!!)
anyone who wears this in public is in no way a real person, this drop is pure humiliation ritual. Who the actual fuck is gonna buy this😂 LMAO
Just got out of a special screening. For context, I don't care about the drama surrounding the actress. I went in knowing barely anything about the plot of the movie and having seen only one trailer and a TV clip, but nothing more. Going in, I had decent expectations. I was hearing mixed things; some were saying the script was pretty bland, others that the movie itself was bland, and many said it wasn't good at all. After gathering my thoughts, I'd like to give my honest, unbiased review, and give a small comparison to the 2025 *Superman* movie.
**I'll start with the good, since there isn't that much of it:**
* The visuals are stunning. The space travel, the planetary shots, and the scenery really hit.
* Some of the humor actually lands. If you're someone who's bored of the cliché humor most superhero movies try to force on you, this movie has some genuinely funny moments and characters.
* Superman really carried this movie; his scenes were really good. (And that's not a good thing at all IMO, more on that later.)
* Lobo is a pretty good character, and his intro is pretty good.
* The Krypton flashback is OK; I think that's the most emotionally tied to the characters you'll feel.
* When Kara is first exposed to the yellow sun at the start of the movie and she gets her powers, that scene is really good and honestly pushed my expectations higher for the rest of the movie.
**Now for the bad:**
* The plot and the premise of this movie are ridiculously bad. You feel almost nothing. There is no mystery, no twists, no tension, and you will feel almost no emotional tie to the characters.
* Ruthye was given more screen time than the main protagonist herself. WTF? And throughout the whole movie, I just couldn't bring myself to care about this character one bit. Actually, anytime she had a scene, I wanted to punch myself in the gut. Her character is ridiculously generic. And just because the movie jokes about how boring and dull her mission is doesn't make her character any less boring. LMAO. SHE WAS SO BORING. I don't get the heavy emphasis on her. I doubt she'll even be back in future movies. And how the hell was she able to overpower one of Krem's goons? Looking back, why was she even in the movie? She didn't add anything to Kara's arc, her story was redundant, and it was mostly Superman flashbacks that advanced her journey to self-discovery.
* WHY ARE THEY DOUBLING DOWN ON THE SUPERMAN CONQUEROR BULLSHIT? LMAO, was this all just to make Kara look better? To show that her parents aren't as evil? It seems like a poor attempt to give her character more moral superiority over Superman.
* Where is the score? Was there even a score? I can't remember. There is nothing memorable about it. The 2025 *Superman* movie had a really good soundtrack, *Man of Steel* had Hans Zimmer, and hell, even *Superman Returns* with all its issues had a beautiful score. This literally had nothing memorable. Midway through the movie, I realized it.
* Lobo was a generic, nonchalant tough guy and funny guy. He had a good intro but was pretty useless throughout the movie, you coudn't feel that this was LOBO in this movie, the man that can easily overpower Superman. He felt like a street level thug. His scenes were OK though, sure he saved Kara but I don't thin, he was anything more than filler script wise.
* Repetitive plot. Aside from being bland, it's just so repetitive. Fight scene, jokes, long boring conversations with Ruthye, save Ruthye, repeat.
* So many scenes in this movie keep dragging out. There is so much talk that literally doesn't add anything to the plot of the movie, and it made me want to punch myself—especially the scenes with Ruthye. In *Superman* 2025, the only part that kind of dragged out was the interview scene, but even that wasn't all that bad. With this one, it's like 80% of the movie is just meaningless dialogue.
* The villain is disgustingly weak. He poses no threat at all, everything he does is comedic, he's not very strong, not very smart, and just goofy overall. I honestly thought he was just a side character at the start of the movie and was kind of disappointed when I found out he's the main antagonist. LOL.
* Does Kryptonite just grow on trees in this universe? Why would this generic villain have access to one of the rarest rocks in the universe? Krypton is literally dust. And how would he even know Kryptonite is deadly to Kryptonians? Krem doesn't come off as all that bright, and yet he has access to Kryptonite AND made a fully functional weapon out of it? Sure, buddy. Kryptonite should be the final trump card against a Kryptonian, but it feels like in this movie, anyone can have it if they want it badly enough.
* Superman carried this movie hard, and that's not a good thing. This is a SUPERGIRL MOVIE. There shouldn't even be a Superman, or maybe just a little, but they gave him like 10 minutes of screen time because I'm guessing they knew the script was incredibly weak. His scenes were really good though, and they had me wishing I was actually watching a *Superman* sequel instead of this snoozefest.
* One of the biggest issues with the movie is the actress herself. She's just not charismatic at all. *Superman* 2025 was significantly more charismatic, both in his own movie and this one. I don't know if it was Millie or the script she was given, but it felt lacking. For example, in the flashback to Krypton, her crying scene ALMOST hit, but not quite. I just couldn't feel the depth of "hey, my whole reality is coming to an end, my people and parents are dying, this isn't good." It just didn't hit at all. And when her father puts her in the pod to send her to Earth? Bro. I expected screaming, yelling, trying not to get in, her father forcing her in, an actually heartbreaking moment. But no, she seems empty being in there. You can call it shock, but I'd rather call it lazy acting or a lazy script. It was just so bad. And for comparison, when the Viltrumites in *Invincible* were getting eradicated, you could feel the depth of destruction and death SIGNIFICANTLY more than Krypton's.
* SO MUCH ACTION SLOP. Explosion here, building destruction there, gunshots, loud noises, goons fighting, tables flipping. And don't get me started on Supergirl's action scenes.
* Supergirl's action scenes: Damn. All she does is kick, punch, throw, and laser. Repeat. Kick, punch, throw, laser, repeat. Where are the martial arts? Why can't we see more detailed fighting? And Jesus Christ, the amount of times they switch frames when there's a fight. It's really not captivating at all. Punch, switch, laser, switch. I would just find myself checking my phone throughout. The action scenes are super loud, there is so much meaningless slop going on in the background, and when she actually fights, it's super mediocre; she has no fighting skill at all. Take away her powers, and it's like a drunk trying to compete in an MMA fight.
The best way I can describe this movie is that going in, you expect to eat good food at a 5-star restaurant. They serve you really fine bread and butter, and you just can't wait to dine on their main dishes. But you keep waiting, and the server comes back with some more bread and butter. OK fine, it's cool. Then more bread and butter. Then more bread and butter, till you wanna slam your head on the table and go eat out of a Wendy's dumpster.
Even Supershit couldn't save this movie. I wish we got a *Superman 2* movie instead of this crap. I actually saw that movie more than once and enjoyed it XD.
**5.5/10**
A whole $4.6 off this jersey, amazing
Edit: For anyone saying "what did you expect its a new item/low on stock" it's 30% off in their NYC store and just stop defending the megamillion dollar company they made bold promises so naturally people will have big expectations
Will for sure start DCA'ing into the stock. Good to be part of the fam!
Legit my favorite thing in this entire drop, and honestly the quality really makes it feel worth the hefty price tag (although it isn't). Very heavy and thick and looks amazing on a muscular build (mine is XL and I'm super thankful I got the size right). They really shouldve made more of it.
I was able to cop an XL (I had Tier 3 access) and just checked back and it's basically gone. Was not expecting that but I did say before it's probably the best part of the drop, just funny cuz they didn't advertise it at all on insta.😂
esp at that 90 price point. anyone else feel like this whole cbum drop is super basic and bland?
