Hey all,
I purchased a Motionsound pro 3 x second hand and it worked fine for a day, and then the motor stopped working. The speaker works, it just doesn’t spin. Anyone encountered this before, or have any recommendations? Also, if you’re in the Chicago area, any recommendations for shops to take it to?

Anyone know why they pulled the 70s run of Master of Kung Fu from the app?

I’ve been doing a post crisis read through of all the Superman titles off and on for the past few years. I’ve read up to the death and return, and then everything post infinite crisis. Recently I went back to it and picked up at the beginning of the “mullet era” and I’ve got to say that Louise Simonson and Jon Bogdanove have really sold me on there version of the character. The combination of Bondanove’s dynamic and uniquely 90s art style with Simonson’s economy of story telling always keeps me engaged and rushing to see what the next page has in store. That’s not to say that I think the other 3 title are lacking at all, it’s just MoS is really resonating the most. Maybe it’s just because that period was when I was in the comic book store daily, but it just ticks all the boxes.

I’ve traditionally been a capes and cowls reader but about a year ago I read Gotham Central. Since then I’ve been increasingly more into crime and noir in general. I had reached out to this Reddit thread for recommendations for good crime/detective comics and several people recommended Torso by Bendis. I was hesitant to read it because my main exposure to him was his run on Superman. I’ve read every action/superman/adventures/MoS post crisis and his run is in my top 3 worst. What that man did to John Kent was a crime. As I knocked out more and more of the title suggestions off the list Torso kept staring me in the face. So last week I broke down and read it. The story itself is interesting. I love when history becomes something more than just words in a text book. And the artwork and page layouts were top notch. Andreyko’s use of shadow, harsh lines, and mixed media was really refreshing and made want to turn the page to see what was next. But that was it. The writing was horrible. If it wasn’t for the art, I would’ve stopped reading. There was way too much old timey for the sake of old timey jargon in it. It didn’t help to immerse you in the story. There was a sub plot about one of the detectives that only seemed to be in the story for padding purposes. It was a six issue mini that could’ve easily been 4. It was just mediocre writing at best. So i say all this to ask, what is the deal with Bendis? So many people like him but man, i just don’t get it. All I’ve seen are either big swings and misses or just phoning it in.

I was checking out the DC digital reader app this morning and saw that they have Supergirl: girl of steel, Superboy: the super dog from Kryton, science fiction: gorilla world, horror: the Devil’s doorway, and supergirl: die and let live available to read. I’m curious if this is a limited offering or if they’re going to be uploading all of them to the app.
