DC Finest Batman Side
I love how on the side of the Batman Post-Crisis DC Finest it looks like Bruce is lowering his head, whether that be intentional or not. He starts tall and proud, then leans forward and finally sinks into darkness.

Mailman was good to me today! 😁
I wanted to see how far into Post-Crisis pre-Knightfall Batman we are by using the old Caped Crusader and Dark Knight Detective trades. So I bookmarked where the last Post-Crisis Batman DC Finest , Blind Justice, will leave us. Keep in mind that these trades didn’t include, Year One and Year Two, A Death in the Family and A Lonely Place of Dying as well as any graphic novels that came out during the time. And we’re not even half way to the Prelude to Knightfall trade they put out. Which isn’t surprising but it’s a good gauge for how much content still needs to be collected in between especially when you consider the other series that Batman had going on.
I’ve been loving the DC Finest and the variety of titles they have chosen to publish. Yes there’s a lot of Batman but there’s also a bunch of the old stuff they published in their vast history.
Whilst looking at the Fourth World DC Finest (hopefully they collect more of the Kirby Fourth World stuff), I thought how nice a Firestorm Finest would be (i’ve ben on a firestorm high with the new series) containing the 5 issues of Firestorm: The Nuclear Man (1977) and first few issues of The Fury of Firestorm (1982).
So yeah this was my little concept for it. With the sales of the current Firestorm series, I think this would be a nice call and would probably sell.
As someone who hasn’t even read a Finest yet, I love the direction the line is going right now!
I saw a DC Finest I wanted on Amazon for less than IST and was trying to remember why I don't like buying these from them. The book arrived and now I remember.
Given Todd McFarlane is so famous/successful/prolific, why do you think DC has never collected his Infinity Inc run - DC Finest - or otherwise?
Also, yes, Marin Kitagawa is an integral part of the Batman mythos, lmao.
After I finish them I am thinking about giving a chance to The Demon and Hawkman
I am interested in both characters, particularly their copper age stuff, but when these Silver Age ones were announced I started wondering if I should check out the earlier stuff too
I am a huge Moon Knight fan, including the classic stuff, and both seem to have a somewhat similar appeals (although pretty different personalities far as I can tell)
The one thing thats holding me back is I have struggled to get into silver age Green Lantern (although I am collecting it) and especially Flash. I don't have the same issue with Marvel Silver Age, but DC just hasn't clicked for me thus far. The characters feel flatter and the continuity less emphasized ij the Silver Age. I want subplots and melodrama and characters evolving
With these particular biases in mind, if I were to get one of these two volumes, which would be a better fit in your opinion?
The Diplomats Son, Consequences, The Cult and A Death in the Family all in one book. Its peak
Like the title says I'm curious about what you guys are doing once DC Finest collects runs or issues you already have? For example I have the first few tpb's of George Perez's Wonder Woman run if there was a DC Finest announced would you double dip for completionist's sake, sell your regular tpb and switch over to the DC Finest, or keep the tpb and collect the stuff around it? I'm debating what to do for Batman: Year One and Two and Event: Crisis on Infinite Earth
Hey all,
Quick question for you. Thought of this while reading the latest JOKER Finest. Do you think they'll release volumes of Catwoman's stories prior to LIFE LINES? She certainly would have enough to fill about two or three volumes, especially if the Earth Two Catwoman is involved. What are the chances?
One thing about excluding any supplemental material from these books, it's not really clear that the first three stories are proto-Rock before his debut in OAAW #83. At least the back of the Showcase Presents mentioned "prototype" version. I don't object to including the story, especially since it places Kanigher and Kubert up front rather than in the three spot.
Also, Bob Haney #2 on the cover credits? For four stories? C'mon, let's at least bump Kubert up, maybe toss in Heath...
He is different from Arthur btw they just share the blonde hair trait but they are completely different in term of origins, name, and lore and personality
Even abilities
Adam is also 100% human and his abilities are due to the experimants done by his father and his strength and combat skills are all due to hard training
He is also a rival of Batman too
Has his own base in the seas and he is quite a brilliant dude
