I’m an order picker. Help me
I’m an order picker. I do totes, big bags specifically. I work 3-1130, but typically am there till 1. My probationary period was meant to end today but I’ve been extended another month. Management gave me a shift of training and let me loose, and I’ve had basically no help with learning aside from asking questions on the go, and watching others. That’s helped a lot. My peer comes in hours before his designated time and doesn’t take breaks or lunches so he can leave an hour or two early. I’ve tried that but it kills me physically.
Here’s my problem- I have illnesses that have me on the ADA list, and I made that clear to my FOM today and I’m hoping that it won’t get me fired. They say I’m too slow. I say I need to use the restroom, I need to drink water, and with these big routes I need to get more totes 2 or 3x on the route. I’m at a loss, honestly. I get married in a month, I’m extremely nervous about this one month probationary period ending in that time.
Will they fire me? And if they do don’t I have like super clear legal backup?
