Just got out of surgery. I was nervous for nothing! But I should’ve listened to my surgeon’s recommendation

I was trying to do it awake but my surgeon recommended me to do general anesthesia however, if I didn’t want that, I could do MAC sedation. I was bummed that I couldn’t be awake so I chose MAC. The waiting part made me so anxious and they couldn’t give me anything for anxiety until I went in the operating room which kind of sucked 😭 but once I was in there, i wasn’t sure if they gave me anything for anxiety or if it was the MAC but I remember I felt sooo good (almost like a high feeling) and then I don’t remember anything after that.

However, I should’ve done general because they said I kept moving a lot and tried touching my face during the procedure so they had no choice but to put me under general. So next time I’m definitely listening to my surgeons recommendations because I didn’t know I’d react that way under mac. Either way, I’m glad I was asleep during it cause when I woke up I was like “huh that’s it” lol. But I feel no pain right now which is good :)

Tomorrow is the day and I’m getting really anxious

The anxiety has finally hit me. Every time I think about the procedure I start to feel my heart racing. I’m choosing to do it awake just cause it’s an hour procedure and so far I felt fine about it up until now. Please help put my mind at ease 🥲
