New Costco T-Shirts Use Less Cotton Than Previous Shirts
It was time for me to buy new white t-shirts from Costco. I love my old ones; they feel thick and sturdy. However, when I held the new t-shirt purchased in May 2026, I immediately noticed that it was lighter than my old one. I couldn't resist checking the scale to confirm my suspicion. The old shirt weighed 7.0 ounces, while the new shirt weighed 5.3 ounces. That's a difference of 1.7 ounces of cotton material. So, 5.3 oz is about 24.3% smaller than 7 oz.
