Q-Tips - Shrinkflation, literally.

Bought a new box and they felt different. Had a few leftovers from before. Here we go, the new ones are slightly shorter and feel much less „fluffy“ - The only reason I bought those and not the cheap knockoff-brand. Germany btw, bought at a very popular drug store chain.

Fuck you CVS!

I'm diabetic and I have to buy alcohol swabs. These boxes come in a 4-pack so now there's 80 less. 17% cut and same price. đŸ˜ĄđŸ€Ź

Suave

The 18 ounce bottle was bought about two years ago and I keep it for traveling. I bought another bottle for regular use today and noticed it was much smaller. But then I remembered bigger bottle came from a two pack
just to see that they shrunk the two pack by THREE ounces

Prozis quietly shrinks its whey isolate protein powder from 1kg to 907g

Popular protein powder brand in Europe quietly shrinks its offer from 1kg to 907g while keeping the same price. Insane

Tide reduced the ounces again on Hygienic Clean Power Pods

I've been buying Tide Hygienic Clean pods for just over 3 years. I actually have some old containers because I've been too lazy to haul them up the stairs. Got a new container today and the oz have gone from 72oz to 66oz, same price. I looked through some of the old containers and found one for 76oz. So they've reduced the ounces at least 3x since June 2023. Gotta love giant corporations /s

Little bites changed back to real chocolate!

A few months ago, they made the change to these and they were called “chocolatey chip muffins” and they took away the “made with real chocolate” statement.

I just noticed today, they are back to “chocolate chip muffins” and the “made with real chocolate” is back.

Does anyone know if they were receiving backlash for the change? I am very happy they are back to normal.

Reese first gives us fake chocolate, now 5.6 less ounces. I just got this account in July (yes I have a problem), so this just happened

Trump Threatens 100% Tariffs on Countries That Tax American Tech Companies. Will It Actually Work This Time?

Just as US-EU trade tensions seemed to be cooling, a new flashpoint has arrived.

Trump has threatened a 100% tariff on any country imposing a digital services tax on American companies, and made clear it would supersede any existing trade agreements. This comes less than two weeks after the EU approved a deal designed to cut tariffs on US goods.

The tactic has worked before. Canada repealed its 3% digital services tax after a similar ultimatum to keep trade negotiations alive.

But the EU is a different beast. France already has a DST in place and has previously said it won't bow to US pressure. Germany and Belgium are planning their own versions. The core disagreement, whether large American tech companies pay enough tax on European revenue, has been running for years with no resolution in sight.

For ecommerce sellers operating across borders, this isn't abstract. A 100% tariff on goods from major EU trading partners means higher sourcing costs, more expensive imports, and consumers on both sides paying more for everything.

A few things worth discussing:

Do you think EU countries will back down the way Canada did, or is this a different situation entirely? If these tariffs do go into effect, which product categories do you think get hit hardest?

Half the size?!

Glad to know I'm not the only one seeing this happen to deodorant. I expected small decreases in size but this is insane! It's almost half the size! And these were bought within six months of each other. And the bigger one was bought in LA while the smaller one came from Nebraska. I would have expected the other way around. This has me ready to boycott this brand, any recommendations?

ETA: thanks for the comments. To add context. This was not purchased in the travel size section, it was the only size offered and the box didn't indicate that it was travel sized. So, even if not true shrinkflation it's still crummy. I added photo of box in comments.

Kroger’s 'substitution' algorithm casually dropping the weight from 7 oz to 5.3 oz for the exact same $2.79.

Made good breakfast bar size of your finger

Breakfast morning bar. Made good mornings.

Not only did they reduce it down to five, but they nea rly halved the size of them. Kept the price though.

One breakfast bar is slightly larger than my finger. And I'm not a big guy.

Jack Link’s Bacon Jerky

I knew something was wrong when I bought a pack today. Compared to the one I have home, yet more evidence of shrinkflation.

At least it was the same price; other cases have been less amount and higher price.

HEB Texas toast in texas

Will have to stop buying their brand now as well. Latest box is probably half the size as it was a month ago. The box had "jumbo" on it. They're probably 75% smaller than they were a year ago. Price has gone up 50% in the last year.

That's a normal dinner fork for scale. I didn't have any bananas. Sorry

Oh Proctor & Gamble, you POS company

They didn’t even have the decency to make the outer package smaller. They just left a bunch of air at the top. I’m done with this company..
