I think this sequence of events is going to be what ultimately allows cm to fight and defeat cheonma without the whole sect having to throw their lives away to weaken him incrementally. I’m willing to bet that cheonma has already reached this level of enlightment, which is why he was so unstoppable 100 years ago.
Also cm was really in his Taoist philosophy bag this chapter. I love when he’s like this. But I absolutely died at “Blah blah blah, so damn complicated, shut up”.

Whenever I read this part I think about how Chung myung and Chung Jin met in the side story.
I wonder if baek cheon reminds Chung myung of Chung Jin in this way. His soft spot for Chung Jin seemed to come from him refusing to back down even when he got his ass kicked every time, and now baek Cheon acts the same way.

I had been suspecting that what happened in Chung Myung’s fight against Jang Ilso had made him much stronger, but do we think he’s finally regained his former level?
Between that and overcoming the heart demon situation it seemed like Chung Myung had taken a massive step forward, and this chapter solidified it imo.
Now Im really excited for that side story with jwa gohak to come back. I’m so curious what they went through together in Beijing.
