It’s me again but I just wanted to share I’m 8 days and 8 paintings in!

Today is Day 9 but I give myself until midnight to do this so it doesn’t count yet. Haha. I won’t do another update unless I make it to over a month of this but I just wanted to share that I’m managing to keep the streak going! Ahhhh! Thank you to everyone who was really kind and lovely and supportive with my last post.

P.S. F portraits! Hahaha jk jk I just obviously struggle with it a lot so to those who have mastered the art of painting portraits with gouache, kudos to you and I don’t lke your stinking talented guts! 😂

I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend! Happy painting to us all! ❤️

Trying to paint daily (a Herculean task for this busy brain). 3/3 so far!

Got a journal and just wanted to paint with intention. I am a lazy artist so I don’t paint often. I usually do big elaborate pieces that can take anywhere between two weeks to a year to complete not because they require the time, but because I have so many other pursuits that I abandon them all for each other. Anyone else…?

I started four days ago (today is the 4th day but I’m waiting for layers to dry and I have 30 minutes until midnight, heh) but I have had a 100% success rate so far so I’m stoked! It’s such a small deal but such a big win. Number 3 isn’t an original but an interpretation of a piece made from marker by Bo Feng Lin.

Thanks for looking!

Page 1 of a new journal. Haaaaam!

Trying to do a painting each day/every other day to practice and improve my line work and color mixture because as much as I hate to admit it I’m a slow and messy painter. I really enjoy fixing my mistakes but figured it would be nice to learn how to avoid them to begin with.

Today’s theme: Ponyo!

I have two stones currently but initially had 3. I passed a 2mm pretty easily for a first timer back in August of last year after a CT scan revealed the trio and because the other two were non-obstructing, despite their sizes (6mm and 5mm then), my urologist said that we can leave them alone. Cue to March 22nd and I experienced the kind of pain that makes you bawl and throw up. Multiple appointments later and my urologist and a new CT scan revealed that both grew by 1mm and I have a 6mm partially blocking my ureter from the left side. The urologist said a ureteroscopy is what he recommends however because of my luck he is going on medical leave and won’t be able to perform the surgery until late May/early June. A stent will also be necessary.

I’m sitting here experiencing significant pain but I’m still able to pee comfortably. The three scenarios I was given was a.) I pass it naturally but there’s only a 40% chance, b.) it moves and pain + fever will indicate an emergency so I go to an ER and they will perform the surgery and c.) I’m uncomfortable for a few weeks but there are no complications and I’m able to wait for my urologist to do the surgery.

From my end passing it naturally seems like the best case scenario. Is this true? And if so, does being on Flomax and being a woman who’s already passed a stone albeit a smaller one mean anything? I’m pretty diligent with my lemon water intake but I’m just desperate for answers since it’s my first time dealing with kidney stones. Any tips and advice and just success stories would really mean a lot. I have a history of anxiety and really bad panic attacks from a bad accident and I’m trying not to let this discourage and instill fear in me but my brain at the moment needs data and relatable stories from others experiencing or have experienced the same thing to find them « credible », I guess. Thank you so much for reading and if you’re dealing with kidney stones as well I hope recovery and treatment come easily to us all.

Whenever I think it’ll only need another hour or two I end up spending 3 more hours with no end in sight but I think I’m really, really getting there this time for real, guys! Haha.

Thanks for looking!

I spilled red paint on this which completely just made me feel deflated but today I finally fixed it. This was a project from last year which has just been abandoned primarily due to my health and I’m on another medical leave but this time I’m using my free time to finish several paintings that I started but never got around to finishing.

Please send me some of your determination and luck and thank you to everyone who has always been super nice whenever I share progress pics of this piece since it’s made an appearance on this sub at least three other times. Have a great weekend, friends!

I feel like I have to do this once every few years but I have girl friends who like to share bathtub pics completely unaware that while distorted they’re in fact revealing their bodies so if you’re a bathtub girl or bathtub bro yourself or know of them just remind them that reflections are a thing!
