[PTS] Custom Cast SKX007 Lume Chapter Rings (BGW9 & C3) - Drop-in for SKX007/SRPD

Hey everyone, I am selling off some extra custom-made smooth chapter rings. These were cast in a mold to exact SKX007 dimensions for my own personal watch builds, and I am listing the remaining extras here. I am a hobbyist, so quantities are strictly limited to what I have on hand.

These are made using high-grade BGW9 and C3 lume mixed with a clear resin matrix. There is no locking pin on the bottom of the rings, allowing for easy alignment. Depending on individual case tolerances, some rings seat snug while others fit just right with a tiny bit of movement before the crystal is pressed down.

Dimensions:

* OD: 30.4mm +/- 0.1mm
* ID: 27.3mm +/- 0.1mm
* Height: 2.3mm +/- 0.1mm

Visuals & Fitment:

* Pictures show Indoor glow after 3 minutes of sunshine.

* Following pictures show the exact fit fitment in the case compared to a standard Tokeilab steel chapter ring.

* https://youtube.com/shorts/MYfFrveVAJc - Video showing the dynamic lume transition from outdoors to indoors.

* They drop in and seat perfectly into Tokeilab V2 Explorer cases, and any other aftermarket cases cut to accept a standard SKX007/SKX009/SRPD chapter ring.

Pricing & Payment:

* Price: $60.00USD per ring.
* Shipping: $10.00USD flat rate for Canada and USA. International orders will be priced based on location. Tracking via Canada Post (from Vancouver) and USPS (from Blaine)

Since I can fit multiple rings into a single tracked bubble mailer for the same shipping cost, I can pass those savings on if you want to grab a couple for future builds

* Payment accepted via PayPal F&F / G&S (add 3% for G&S fees), Credit Card (via Stripe link), or Wise transfer.

Custom BGW9 and C3 lume SKX007 chapter rings

Just picked up my custom made chapter rings made from BGW9 and C3 lume in SKX007 dimensions.

Took them outside to charge up in the sunshine for 3 minutes and this is how they look indoors.

Here is a video showing the lume transition from outdoors to indoors.

The drop in and seat perfectly into the Tokeilab V2 explorer cases, which means they will fit in any SKX007 case. Last 3 pics show the fit in the case compared to a Tokeilab steel ring.

Tokeilab 38mm v2 case is incredible!

Searched for weeks for the right case for a pair of watches I’m designing and needed to meet the following requirements:

- Explorer style case
- 38mm diameter
- can accept a SKX007 chapter ring
- brushed and polished finish

Searched all available options and only two made the cut:

Watch & Style RPC001
https://watchandstyle.net/products/rc1470-38mm-case-explorer-case

Tokeilab v2 Explorer
https://tokeilab.com/products/case-exp-38mm-v2-polished-brushed

I ended up choosing the Tokeilab for the following reasons:

- case and bezel are machined from a single block
- thinner bezel profile
- 43mm lug to lug
- more rounded case & lug profile
- double dome sapphire crystal upgrade for $5.00

This was my first time ordering mod parts and when I opened the package today, my first impression was how well everything was packaged.

Other than the bracelet, every item was individually wrapped, put into a ziplock bag and then into its own case.

I examined the both cases and the crown threads on and off smoothly, the mirror and brushed finishes are perfect. No sharp edges. I examined the inside of each case and the machining is perfect, clean and precise.

I unpackaged the angled chapter ring and could see the same level of detail on it. CNC cut with a perfect brushed finish.

I examined the double dome crystals and both were flawless.

I admit that I had some anxiety after placing the order, but after seeing and holding the products, I am super happy with my decision to go with Tokeilab and would recommend them if you are looking for quality cases and chapter rings!

My Monster is now 25!

Just clued in today that my Monster is 25 years old and what adventures we’ve had in that time. It’s never been serviced, gains a few seconds when it gets some wrist time.

Just dropped it off to have the case and crown gaskets replaced for the first time, then enjoy it until the movement dies.

Please share your oldest workhorse in your collection, as I’d love to see the durability of Seiko.

Removable chapter ring question for DS 40mm GS case

I am looking for a case for a custom 33.5mm dial and like the look of the brushed, flat top bezel of this Evo9 style case from DS watch club: DS 40mm GS case

It shows a dial fit size: 33.5mm/32.5mm and I am guessing that is where the removable chapter ring comes into play? If I have a 33.5mm dial I remove the chapter ring?

They don't have any pictures of the inside of the case without the chapter ring, so does anyone who has used this case know if that visible wall is finished?

Looking for a “no day-date” dial for gen1 monster?

My monster has never been serviced and I’m thinking of just doing a movement swap instead of a service.

So this got me thinking to swap the dial get rid of the day/date, but I wanted a dial that matches the factory lume, since my bezel is lume to match. Can any tell me if such dials exist?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Coding plug causing issues

My tach wasn’t reading, coolant temp gauge goes crazy at times and seeing random warning lights appear… so I ordered some new lithium batteries to replace the old ones.

Did the battery swap and replaced the odometer gears while I was in there, reinstalled the cluster, started the engine and the tach didn’t show a reading. I was told to check if the coding plug is seated correctly, so I gave it a firm push with my finger, restarted the car and tach worked again.

However, while driving the tach would stop working and the needle go to zero, coolant gauge was stable and intermittently go crazy, the SI service lights sometimes light up and then go dark.

Entered this info into AI and got the following:

“Cracked Solder Joints at the Coding Plug Receiver
The Problem: The coding plug tells the cluster how many cylinders your engine has so the tachometer reads accurately. The female receiver pins soldered directly to the main cluster circuit board take physical stress every time a plug is inserted or removed.”

I extract the cluster, disassemble and examine the SI board and my gut tells me to check the actual coding plug. When I pull the plug out a feel it flex. When I take a close look I see breaks on all of the solder joints!

So if you are getting strange cluster issues with your e30, make sure you check the coding plug solder joints for breaks.
