my dad just asked me if i experience phantom boobs (14 MtF)
so yeah, obviously a weird ass question to ask your kid either way but that's not the main thing. i've been trying to convince my parents to let me start puberty blockers and my mom has been pretty reasonable but my dad has been hard to convince. he initially said no but then later said he'd try to be more open-minded, but just based off this question it's pretty obvious he's probably not being very reasonable and doesn't believe that i'm actually trans.
so how should i answer? should i lie to him so i can get puberty blockers or be honest and risk making it harder for me to get them?
i feel so stuck (14 mtf)
i recently came out to my parents and they MIGHT let me get on t blockers. regardless, they've still made it clear they don't want me on HRT until i'm 18.
im already scared to fully socially transition because i know it'll be a major struggle to pass to any degree, but what the hell will i even do if being on blockers + socially transitioning doesn't tone down my dysphoria enough?? will i just have to deal with feeling like crap constantly for the entirety of high school? DIY is hardly an option because there's no way in hell im keeping it a secret for 4 entire years.
and this is all assuming my parents let me start blockers, GENUINELY what the hell do i do if they dont? and aren't blockers not supposed to be taken long term anyways? there's no way i'd be allowed to be on blockers without E for 4 years straight
i know they care about me a lot, but i don't even know if they'd let me get on HRT if i tried talking to them and telling them some of the stuff that's been going through my head. if they knew how desperate and shitty i've been feeling they might just take measures to prevent me from doing anything serious and try to somehow help my mental health in other ways
so is there even anything i can do?? is there something i'm missing or do i just have to live like this?
how do i accept myself as trans (14 AMAB)
i've been questioning my gender heavily for around 6 months now. i've come to this sub many times for advice and have been helped by a lot of the articles and stuff recommended. i feel so sure that i want to be a girl. i'd love to have a female body, dress like a girl, be seen as a girl. i wish so badly i could transition, almost everything about it just feels so right.
but i have this ever-present feeling of uncertainty, because "what if i'm wrong?" that's already enough to stop me from coming out to close friends or making any other steps, because imagine how awkward it'd be to announce i'm detransitioning. i want to be trans so badly and i don't really have any logical reason to believe i'm not, but the thought refuses to waver. and i still haven't even really accepted to myself that i'm trans, because "i can't be sure" or something like that.
i started seeing a therapist about gender questioning, and honestly, it was mostly because i wanted them to decide i'm trans for me so that i can just go transition already. obviously no good therapist would do that, and so i'm still left in more or less the same place i was before, just now with a therapist. originally i also kinda came here so that people could decide for me in the replies, but halfway through writing this i'm realizing that maybe i should be asking how i can accept myself as trans, because i think that might be the real issue.
how do i accept myself as trans? as of now i'm kind of at a point where i can logically say "yeah, i probably am," but i havent really fully acknowledged or accepted it. it's like at the beginning of a new year when you know what year it actually is, but still subconsciously write last year's date on a worksheet in school.
thanks so much for any responses! so sorry for overly long post body
