Anyone got one of those, you know, [whisper] IPv6 addresses?
My router performs hourly tcpdump -i eth0 "icmp6 && ip6[40] == 134" on WAN interface, desperately filtering for single unsolicited ICMPv6 Type 134 packet like pathetic romantic waiting for text back. I heard that native dual-stack is rolling out "walk-crawl-run" style this summer, yet my link-local interface has not seen a single Router Advertisement or hint of DHCPv6-PD. I am so fully and completely ready to accept /56 prefix delegation and ditch my kludge of Hurricane Electric IPv6 tunneling!
Are any normal, non-10G subscribers actually getting RA packets and DHCPv6 allocations, or are we still deep in crawl phase of this migration? Tell me your region so I can map my jealousy with architectural precision.
And please tell me with as many words as you wish how IPv6 is not essential and how everything 'works just fine for you' with only IPv4 forever.
