Update on my Motostrelok LARP kit.

Same as last time, I don't have access to real gear, but I try to be as accurate as possible. My helmet arrived. Thi kit is.meant to be early-mid war (2022-2023) Motor-Infantryman. Unfortunately the "Army Branch" and "Unit Type" patches are covered by shoulder pads. But they are present. Hope you don't mind my experiments with lighting))))

Edit:

Thanks for the MOLLE feedback. I'll tuck the lower pouch straps in!

As for the patches, I would respectfully disagree with many of you. They objectively were/are common, especially the generic ones like the flag, blood type and “Z”. You do have a point, though. They generally are worn more on the side, so I'll move them a bit.

As for the shoulder and groin pads, yes, they aren't all that popular to wear. But Stormtroopers use/d them, so I don't really see a big issue. Yes, the original Ratnik-6 ones were never particularly popular among soldiers, but I find them quite comfy. And I don't see an issue with wearing standard-issue equipment and calling it accurate. After all, it's pretty reasonable to say that some soldiers wore exactly the full official kit that was issued to them.

For those who have authenticity issues with the kit: I repeat, just treat this as a cosplay/LARP kit. Jeez, we're guys playing with toy guns. No need to take ourselves so seriously.

An attempt on Motor-Rifleman

Hey guys! I’m almost finished putting together my first kit. I’m trying to build a kosher Russian motostrelok kit for the war in Ukraine, and I’ve finally managed to get the right body armour.

Disclaimer: I live in a very remote location, where genuine military gear is extremely expensive and often almost impossible to get, especially when it has to come from Europe. Because of that, I have to rely mostly on reproductions, and sometimes cheaper Chinese clones.

Personally, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with trying to put together the correct kit using reproductions if you’re not an actual soldier and you’re doing this for airsoft, LARP or cosplay. If it matters to you, you can consider this an impression LARP kit.

The armour is supposed to be a 6B45, with the correct pouches.

The helmet hasn’t arrived yet, but I’ve got the kosher 6B47 on the way, along with a proper high-quality camouflage cover and goggles.

The camouflage is EMR / Russian “Digital Flora” summer uniform. Unfortunately, this one is also a Chinese copy.

The pouches are deliberately arranged in my own way. It’s simply the setup that makes the most sense for what I actually intend to carry.

Unfortunately, large-scale games aren’t really an option where I live, so carrying multiple magazines or a dump pouch doesn’t make much sense for me. Instead, I’d rather load myself up with equipment that I’m actually going to use, like foldable shovel in my side pouch.

I know it might look like I’m missing an IFAK/medical pouch at first glance, but it’s currently carried in the standard pouch on the back. Eventually, I’m planning to move it to my belt, although I’m not particularly keen on that idea. I’d prefer to keep the sides of the kit as clear as possible.

Let me know what you think! Just keep in mind that this is my first kit, so I’m still figuring things out and learning as I go.

*Edit: Quick question, where am I meant to put all my cool patches in this loadout? And no, just abandoning them isn't an option lol
