Need advice

Doesn't matter what I do to my AK, I just never feel like it looks legitimate. Going for an SSO style set up, so please let me hear any recommendations that might help improve the look.

Stock, optics, hand guard, fore grip, rail attachments, sling, paint - open to any advice!

If I'm crazy and it looks fine, please say so.

I am taking down all your information.

I’ve had this Smersh for a while now, and I’d like to know if you can tell me its year of manufacture and provide any information about it (users, is it still in use? by whom? reference photos would be great too).

I would especially like to know if I can put together a decent outfit with what I have, the necessary helmet, camo, etc.

Thanks.

Pants, jacket and shoes ID ?

Trying to identify what the 2 guys on front (no gear on them) are wearing : mainly the beige pants, green jackets and black shoes. I only identified the Ufpro p-40 gen I or II pants and Haix Black Eagle in sage yet on the second guy. The black shoes look similar to Black Eagle but are different (added another picture where you see them better). Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

A small update on the Russian/Soviet equipment archive

It's been a couple months since I posted this here, and I just wanted to update everyone.

It's grown by at least 5 to 6x since the last post. A lot of material has also been coming from people adding photos, identifying equipment, and writing up descriptions for different items.

There's now a pretty broad mix of Soviet and Russian equipment across different periods and units. If anyone has a good knowledge of more modern Russian Armed Forces, SSO, FSB, GRU, etc., those areas could definitely use some more attention.

Here's some of the stuff that's been added/changed:

Navigation

I moved the navigation to the top on desktop so photos and content can take up more of the screen. This is still a bit of a feeler, so I'd be interested to hear whether people prefer the top navigation or the old sidebar.

Overview pages

Collections/units now have their own overview pages. There you can see popular albums/operations, equipment used in them, historical information, etc.

Equipment family pages

Equipment with multiple variations can now be grouped into a family page. So instead of having to find each variant separately, you can see them together and compare them. Documentation/comparisons can also be added to the page.

Unassigned references

If you know what the equipment in a photo is but don't know the context, you can now add the photo directly to that equipment page. It'll sit under "Unassigned References" until someone can figure out where it belongs.

The idea is still pretty simple: make it easier to identify equipment from photographs and find other examples of the same stuff.

As always im always looking for feedback and corrections!
