Don’t use Chime y’all…

In my last post, I spoke about a d*spute and it got deleted which is neither here nor there…

But I’m here today to say if you can get off Chime, get the hell off. I mentioned briefly in that post how I was scammed. The scam in question was for car insurance which is illegal by both state and federal law and in my case, a felony because the people who scammed me made fake insurance policy documents. I only found out about the whole thing on June 10th because my car got fucked and I couldn’t file a claim. So obviously, I filed a you know what so I can maybe recover my lost money.

And Chime basically told me no error occurred despite me providing them with all of the chat records, the police report, the FBI IC3 report, and TDI report, among other things. I literally gave them everything and they said no error occurred. 🫠

I requested the investigation notes so we’ll see if they’ll actually send me them but I also decided to escalate things and email The Bancorp bank, but also Chris, Ryan, and even Matt at Chime in order to hopefully get this resolved. Because hello… 😭 I’ve seen so many people say Chime is never helpful in normal scam situations, but damn, they were REALLY unhelpful this time around. I should’ve left when I didn’t receive my sign on bonus,,

Just a word of warning to anyone out there. Chime is probably not your best option and I’m sure there’s something better than them out there if a brick-and-mortar bank isn’t an option for you.

How has Chime handled your disputes?

Not looking for any advice!

I’m just curious and wanna hear from the community. I recently had to file a dispute because I got scammed up the wazoo lol and I was just wondering for others who have also had to, specifically in cases of being scammed—how did Chime handle it for you? I’ve had Cash App tell me straight up that I wasn’t scammed despite all the evidence, so I’m curious if Chime was kinder to you all. Maybe how they handled it is why you Chime? I’ve liked banking with them so far so I am hoping their investigation process is better than Cash App’s.

[REQ] ($50) - (#Rio Hondo, Texas, United States), (06/24/26), (Paypal)

Hi everyone. It seems like life is kicking my ass right now lol. My car is out of commission again so I'm relying on my sister for rides and I need to provide her with some gas money so she can take me to work and clinicals the next few days. My last paycheck was barely enough to cover my car note so that's why I have nothing now. I get paid on the 24th but I am also expecting a refund from school, likely next week, so whenever that comes, I will repay early if possible and I can pay back $75 in return. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it a lot.
