Rehab dilapidated Glenwood Ave brick pavement?

The brick pavement of Glenwood Ave appears to have not been properly repaired in decades. The only patches are concrete and asphalt.

Am I the only one who would like to see a rehabilitation of this street with new blocks? I feel like a lot of the reason this failed as a car-free space was the absolute state of the pavement being a jacked up and a safety hazard. Just me?

West sidewalk bike path on broadway?

Took a walk on the west side sidewalk up Broadway and noticed that there seems to be plenty of room for a bike path between the buildings and the curb if some of the street furniture gets scooted out of the way. Even a six foot path would leave five feet or so of sidewalk. Bonus for being in the shade during the afternoon.

Unpopular opinion? Just me?

After the recent extreme air pollution would you support policies to achieve net-zero carbon emissions?

Bluntly, more numerous and severe forest fires are a result of climate change and zeroing out carbon emissions is a huge lift. Current CO2 levels guarantee that the climate will continue to worsen and improvement will require net-zero emissions.

Any realistic possibility of achieving net-zero would require ceasing sales of new internal combustion vehicles and natural gas appliances (furnaces, water heaters, stoves, etc.). Hydrocarbon-burning vehicles and appliances would need to be removed from service in the not-distant future.

Would you support Chicago and/or Illinois enacting these policies?

Edit: your whataboutism replies ignore the fact that net-zero for households is a necessary condition for global net-zero.

Do European countries create museums for their past elected heads of state/government when they leave office? How would you feel if yours did?

Under US law, a museum and library is erected for every president upon the expiration of their terms in office. I (51M American) seem to be the only person I know who finds this off-putting and weird.

Is something like this done in European countries? How would you feel about it if yours did?

Would green track trams be good for chicago?

Remembering the pics posted months ago of the streetcar tracks found buried in the median of Clark Street got me wondering if we could replace the trees and grass in the median with green tracks for trams.

Or how about green tracks for a DLSD light rail???
