Question about metal cleaning with Tetrasodium EDTA
I use mostly junk steel alloy in my sculpture because it's easy to get and cheap. It's all I can afford right now. I saw tetrasodium EDTA described as a metal cleaner, and want people's opinion on its effectiveness and use on steel alloys. Right now I'm using an alloy rod, and soldering alloy spheres on it. I'll obviously need to protect the clean polished metal with some spray coating to prevent tarnish, and maybe you might have a recommendation for that. There'll be a long sturdy needle soldered onto the end of the rod for stabbing garlic inside the accompanying garlic safe. The garlic safe is a rectangular steel alloy can with many holes stabbed through its sides. It seems garlic is preserved longer without molding or sprouting when kept in a perforated vessel in a cupboard at room temperature with air circulation.
