What is this horrible tugging/snapping feeling?

My lower face/under chin area has been extremely tight for over a year. tonight, I protruded my lower jaw forward a little bit to try to stretch it and it suddenly felt like a bungee cord snapped on the left side of my face. I’ve been dealing with TMJD for six years, but this is, by far, the worst thing that’s happened this entire time.

Has anyone had long term EOE and never had an impaction?

I was diagnosed 14 years ago. My symptoms have been tight/full feeling in my throat and sometimes in my chest, nausea and a weird bubbling feeling in my throat. I’ve never had an impaction even though I’ve had over 100 eosinophils at times. Today was the first time I ever felt like something might get stuck. My esophagus wasn’t narrow at my last endoscopy 5 years ago. Just wondering if anyone has had EoE for years and no impactions. Thank you!

How do you manage multiple significant health issues?

I’m so frustrated as I have taken excellent care of my body for all of my adult life. I’m fit, vegan, do not smoke or drink. Somehow I have multiple health issues that are really challenging to deal with. The most challenging ones to deal with are Trigeminal neuralgia, eosinophilic esophagitis (a food or foods cause my esophagus to swell and narrow but I haven’t been able to determine what food(s) in 12 years) and horrible TMJD. Today all three of them are really giving me problems and I am so frustrated. I am only 60 and I feel like I’m 90.

Heart, kidneys, etc.are all in excellent shape, which is great, but my day to day life is so difficult. I have other issues like osteoporosis that don’t impact my daily life, but that are in the back of my mind.

How do you manage your health conditions without constantly complaining or thinking about them?

I am sorry for whatever challenges you are facing and appreciate any words of wisdom you may have on powering through.

Does anyone else’s jaw randomly jerk for literally no reason? My lower face is so tight and it just jerks sometimes. It’s really freaking me out.

I’ve been married for 30 years and live with my husband and my young adult daughter who recently graduated from college. However, I feel more lonely and isolated than if I lived alone. They are both on their devices constantly and my daughter wears these big headphones all the time. I cook and clean and take care of them but no one hears a word I say. Luckily, I have a wonderful dog who adores me. I was honestly so much less lonely when I lived alone and didn’t date for a few years in my late 20s.
