2012 Nissan Altima Transmission Question

Got a newer vehicle so I've been teaching myself car repair on a 2012 Nissan Altima with roughly 120k miles on it.

I noticed that if I drive the highway, let it rest, then drive the highway again it whines when accelerating, this is a brand brand new problem so I want to nip it early. Ive heard of the transmission problems Altimas can have so I figured I'd check the fluid and likely just do a drain and refill.

However, whomever checked before me A. Jammed the dipstick in sideways and B. Broke the tab you are supposed to put leverage on.

So I can't unlock the damn thing normally even if I could twist it in place twist it in place. What are my options here? Do I just rip it out and buy a new one? If so, how? I'm really trying to avoid a mechanic out of sheer willpower.

Alternative Hikes/activities for Injured Ankle

Hey all.

I know there's alot of hike questions, so I hope this is unique enough to gather some answers.

In Just under two weeks I'll be at Glacier.

I planned on doing some real tough hikes: Grinell Glacier and Highline to Chalet on my upcoming trip. About 2.5 weeks ago I got myself a grade 2 sprain training for these hikes.

I am able to walk about a mile and a half with some discomfort at my current rate of healing. While I am getting better daily, the reality is I should probably prepare myself to not do anything as strenuous, as there's no certainty my ankle will be ready for serious trails in time.

So I'm looking for some more tame awesome hikes. I think I could probably do some mid range hikes about 5 miles-ish.

What are your favorite ankle friendly hikes and activities should my luck be down? Thanks in advance for helping me plan some back ups :)
