Eclipse timelapse at Emley Mast
It’s taken me a few days to sort this out because I messed up my settings, but this was something I’d spent weeks planning, with the aim of capturing the eclipse rotating around the basket of the mast. In the end I missed the perfect alignment by about 5m, and over-exposed the sun, but I’m pretty happy with this despite that.

Keep them mower blades sharp!
It’s one o clock, and time for lunch, but I’d still not finished mowing the lawn. But then I remembered a voice from the past! A quick online transaction (thankful for my fine fare discount) and we’re all good now. What Genesis Pro Tips have served you well over the years?
Unexpected clover in the grass area
In the last two weeks my lawn has become completely dominated by clover and a bit of self-heal. It’s lovely and it’s covered with bees so I’ve stopped mowing, but not sure what to do with it now. There’s areas of longer grass still, and some moss. A bit of everything really. How do I best look after this over the coming months and make sure it’s in a good state towards the end of the year? This bit doesn’t get a huge amount of traffic but it is the ‘formal’ bit of lawn, surrounded with borders.
Ok, I’m hoping some of you guys can put yourselves in my head here. Spring is here and I went to take the gear out at the weekend and couldn’t find my 24-120S. This photo is one of the last shots I took with it, back in November (Nikon Zf, 44mm, 1/1250, ISO100, above Skógafoss). I’ve basically been doing nighttime photography all winter and been using my wide fast primes.
I can’t believe I would have left it in Iceland. Surely I would have noticed it when packing/unpacking? It’s not in any of my camera bags. Not in my office cupboards. Not at work. Not in the car. Where the heck have I put it? Where would you have put it? How can I just mislay my favourite lens? Am I just getting too old to be trusted with all this stuff? Help!!!
