Has anyone tried alternative fibers in *concrete* paperclay?

This is the recipe that replaces the flour in standard paperclay with Portland cement, so it goes:

Paper pulp

Joint compound

PVA glue

Portland cement

Honestly, the process of soaking and blending paper is such a pain in my ass and I'd love to substitute something I can just buy and store in the workshop. I found some short hemp fibers that aren't too far off from paper, but what about synthetic fibers? Nylon, fiberglass, polyester? Any pitfalls I should look out for?

Do you think salt will keep out the weeds?

Salt stays where you put it in the ground, right? This plan definitely can't have terrible and unintended consequences, right?

This was the first time I've worked with Paston, I will work with Stella again when I have another custom project.

I saw a bezel set Asscher pendant on Etsy from a sketchy looking seller at a price that was too good to be true so I sent a picture and specs to Stella.

First contact March 7

Paid March 9

CAD March 10 (I asked for a revision and it was done same day)

PSPs March 26

Pendant arrived April 5

$160 plus shipping for yellow gold plated 925, 7mm stone, no chain

I'm very happy with it and it has lots of fire.
