What size of a hole did you have to drill to run the precharged lines? Did you strip insulation and then reinstall after you pulled lines through? I want to keep the hole smallest that is reasonable.
I have an ecobee3 lite thermostat, an amana 95% furnace with variable fan and just had my 3 ton Mr cool universal with A coil delivered. Eco bee has some diagrams. That should be able to run a hybrid system but current config locks the set points out so I need to reconfigure to confirm those options are there. I’m coming from a non heat pump system.
I have tried to look up some wiring examples, but it is still not completely clear to me what is the best set up. The dip switches will also control the fan speed on the furnace/air handler. I would like to understand what each wire is actually doing, and not just wire it up according to a diagram.
I have 8wire going to the thermostat. I think I only have 2 wire running to the outside unit I am replacing so planning on changing that. I think I’ll need 4 wire.
For the speed of the fan I think I need 400cuft/ ton so I’ll be aiming for 1200. What is the reason to ramp up and down speed for cooling? It sounds like I go on the lower end to help with humidity, but if I don’t have a communicating thermostat, how does the heat pump know the load? I’d buy a new thermostat if it offers more control/more compatibility.
Thanks!
