You Should Know: BUR Doesn't Have an Onsite Maintenance Crew
Yesterday, I was on a flight from BUR to OAK that eventually got canceled after a delay of several hours. This happened to me once before, and I learned from an FA that if they need maintenance at BUR, they've gotta call people to come in because they're not already on site. So if you have anything more than a minor maintenance issue there, it'll be a long wait.
This part I hate to share, but you should also know that you can get off the plane once the doors open at the gate. I raised my hand, asked the FA and walk off, and got on standby for the next flight. I was in OAK 2 hours later, and if I had waited for the original flight, I never would've gotten there.
