Debt Scam
Hope it’s okay to post since I’ve only just joined.
A few days ago I had an email stating I have an “outstanding balance” that needs to be settled ASAP or I would be facing County Court proceedings.
I’ve done a quick Google search after they accused me of failing to engage and lo and behold, it’s a scam.
I genuinely thought it was real since I currently have a debt that I’m working on getting a payment plan for. I was stupid and responded to the email. They had my first name but no specific details of who the debt was owed to or my address.

P.S. They have my email, mobile number and surname now since they are on my email signature. If anyone has any advice on what to do about this, I’d appreciate it a lot. TIA :-)
