Pulling the rip cord- what am I forgetting

I gave notice to my employer. I am going to stay long enough to help select and transition my replacement, probably 6-10 weeks. This gives me time to ensure I have things buttoned up to be truly retired. I think I have things planned, but having never done this before, I ask the collective here for any things you wished you had addressed, or gotchyas or anything like that based on your experiences.

I am retiring at age 64. I will go on COBRA benefits until I turn 65 mid next year. My wife is 67. We will transition her to full Medicare coverage (A,B,D) as I separate from my employer. I have worked with my financial planner on my budget, taxes, SS start dates and investment withdrawal rate. We are very comfortable with our financial position. I am at that point where my money makes significantly more than I do from my job. That is part of the reason I am pulling the plug on work. I have a long list of projects, travel and plans to get me through the first couple years. My employer has floated the idea of my doing some consulting back to them. Kind of interested, but not committed to that path yet.

But I don’t know what I don’t know. What other things should I be thinking of as I move into the world of the formerly working?

Dead screen M1 MacBook Pro - how to best diagnose

I have an M1 MacBook Pro. The screen flickered for half a day, and no longer works. I can use the device with an external display without issue. I did a little research on screen replacement, and feel comfortable doing it, and for $500 I think it worth it in my current situation.

My concern is how to know if the screen is the issue or could it be something in the motherboard. I am doubtful its thee cable, that was my first thought, but any movement of the hinger never impacted the image.

I don't want to spend the money if I am chasing the wrong problem. Are there any tools that cna diagnose the issue more specifically?

KVM for two Macs and dual iMac 27" 5K conversion displays

I am looking for recommendations on a good quality KVM. I searched the forums, found some info, but a lot of it is 5-12 months old.

My setup: One M4 Mac Studio, one M4 MacBook Air. Displays are two 27" iMacs converted to displays. They each have DP, USB-C TB ports. I was planning to focus on the DP ports. Need to drive 5k @ 60hz to each display. They are working well now. They don't support DDC commands ot change the input. The options currently are either the OSD, using buttons on the back of each chassis, or using Better Display keyboard shortcuts to disconnect and reconnect the displays relaying on auto switching. Thee Better Display options works ,but there is significant delay in how long it takes the screen to light up for the new PC. This appears to be a reality of the video logic board I chose for the the conversion. Would like to have something that works a little better.

I have been researching some of the common 5k capable KVMs (most are 8k 60hz capable) but seeing a lot of issues with cabling and screen flicker. I can go as high as $500 if needed would prefer to keep it under $250.

Appreciated anyones experience with KVMs that fit these requirements and are reliable.

Yesterday my Move was working f fine. This morning I go to use it and see this. I have restarted a couple times. I can log in to the device. These lines remain no matter the screen I am on.

What puzzles me is it just sat on my desk overnight. No drops or anything falling on it.
