Whether I code and ask AI to review, or the other way around, I wanted a faster loop than going through GitHub. Also I prefer reviewing code straight in PhpStorm.

So I built this plugin: it allows opening comments inline, both from you (human) or AI (Claude or Codex). And you can easily copy one/all comments into a prompt if that's your thing.

It's 100% local. If there's interest I'll publish it on the PhpStorm marketplace (I've been using it daily for months now).

In some projects I have to store secrets in .env.

But then I'm afraid of a compromised NPM/Composer dependency (or even an agent) reading my filesystem and all the secrets. So I built dotlock: it stores secrets encrypted, and decrypts them automatically when running the new php artisan dev command.

One thing I miss from Claude Code is the ability to display the cost of each session/conversation.

I wanted to share my experience with transcribing documents with AI, including ones with handwriting.

Here's my recommendation:

• use Google Gemini 3.5 flash by default -> fastest, cheapest, good results
• use Claude Fable 5 for maximum accuracy -> it is INCREDIBLE, it reads even better than me, however it is expensive for many pages

If you are a developer, I built https://github.com/mnapoli/ocr for using Gemini easily.

The prompt is super important so you can check out my repository for inspiration. Also I benchmarked various combinations of models, temperature, prompts, thinking level, etc. This is a cumulation of a lot of work, hope it helps.

I'm using this to transcribe whole registries or documents (e.g. a 200+ pages trial from 1890).

Seeing all the requests for transcription in this subreddit I wish I could run a free service for people to submit a page or two. But I'm afraid of the costs.

If you're not a developer, try Claude Opus or Fable in the web UI. One page isn't going to cost much.
