I may be Psych-o, but I think there's a subtle reference in the 2018 movie Benji on Netflix. I just watched it with my kids.

The cop's name is Burton. He HATES it when anyone wants to drive his car. Likes dogs & following procedure. Gave a fist bump to the top at the end.
