World Details Section is No Longer Persistent

The gist of it is that when the Memory Matrix was implemented, the Backstory/World Details section was no longer assigned as "persistent" in the context memory. Instead, it is treated as a starting point of your scenario then it will be dropped from memory around 50+ messages. From there, the AI will rely on lore pieces.

If you're in the official FictionLab Discord, you can find the discussions HERE and HERE

How this might affect you:

  • If you feel as if the AI is lobotomized, it might have lost details from the World Details section.
  • If you are a creator who made big scenarios prior to the Memory Matrix update, you might have to consider changing everything in those old scenarios.

What you can do:

  • Treat the World Details section as a support section for your Greeting Message.
  • Instead of putting your world information inside the World Details section, put it in Location and Premise lore pieces:
    • the Location lore piece will contain the observable information about the world (names of places, appearance of buildings)
    • then link it to a Premise lore piece that will contain the narrative information about the world (key events or memories in those places, maybe even some event scheduling)

Context Memory and Lore Pieces

Here is a visualization of the AI "memory". Context memory is the K number that's written beside the model name. For example:

  • Ophelia has 40k
  • Oracle has 131k

I used The Tokenizer Playground on Huggingface.

This information is for the scenario creators who might be struggling with their lore pieces. You don't have to be strict with the numbers or use a tokenizer for everything. But this should give you SOME idea as to how you should be writing, linking and triggering your lore pieces so that it will work well with the Memory Matrix.

(Reddit is having some image-attachment errors. I have posted the image in a comment.)

FictionLab has a CSAM Problem

Context: This comment is on a PORN scenario. Not just a mature scenario (with heavy themes like violence or horror), it is on a PORN scenario where User fucks an 18 year old that looks like a child. And the creator has MANY similar scenarios, all 18 year olds (because that's the lowest that FL allows!), all looking like their ribs are popping out and their boobs just grew in.

And I... I guess I'm just tired. Because what the heck, man? FictionLab only has THREE no-nos:

  • No minors in 18+
  • No bestiality
  • No blood incest

Even on the FL Discord, ANY discussion about handling minor characters or minor-looking images IMMEDIATELY gets tons of resistance. From the same people sometimes!

Again, I'm not talking about even putting kids in mature settings like danger, violence, horror. I'm talking about literal child-looking characters genned for PORN.

It's just...

For those who aren't familiar with my work, I also use anime-style images. When I generate the images for my NSFW ones, I also get child-looking gens at a rate of maybe 30% because that's just how saturated the training data is. And you know what I do? Shocking concept... I DO NOT USE THE CHILD-LOOKING IMAGES FOR PORN.

How can a site that has awesome scenarios like Echoes of Lumendell and Dungeons & Dragons have devolved to this?

I'm tired, man.
