Who do you notify before travelling out of the country?
Once a year my husband and I visit his family out of the country for at least a month, sometimes more.
Before we leave I tell our building manager (so they know to message us on whatsapp instead of calling in case there’s an emergency and they need to get into our apartment), register with Canadians Abroad (because we go to the Middle East and you never know if shit is gonna go sideways and you need to get out), and give our flight dates to my parents (just to keep them in the loop)
I’m a planner while my husband is an impulsive laissez-faire type and thinks this is all overkill.
Curious what other travellers do. Aside from generally talking about your trip with friends, do you specifically notify anyone when you go out of town for more than a couple weeks?
