Which “cute” anime turned out surprisingly dark for you?
I just watched Chiikawa's movie, The Secret of the Mermaid Island recently and got way more disturbed than I expected. It made me think of other anime that look cute or with kids as the main characters but turn out pretty dark, like:
Takopi’s Original Sin
Made in Abyss
The Promised Neverland
