F-1 visa approved but still waiting for “Issued” — Istanbul
Hi everyone,
I’m wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation with an F-1 visa in Istanbul.
I had my interview at the U.S. Consulate in Istanbul on July 24. My case initially went into administrative processing, and my passport was kept by the consulate.
Then on July 31, my CEAC status changed to Approved. The message says the visa has been approved subject to final processing and that it still needs to go through a final screening step before issuance.
It’s now August 17, and the status is still Approved. I haven’t received any request for additional documents or any other communication.
My program starts on September 9, so I’m getting a little anxious about the timing.
Has anyone here had a similar experience, especially with an F-1 in Istanbul? How long did it take for your status to change from Approved → Issued?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who went through something similar. 🙏
