Hi everyone! I was just offered a Commercial IA Support Agent position at GEICO in the DFW office. I’m kind of interested, tbh. I’m currently working in a similar customer support position for another insurance company, so I kind of know what type of situation I’d be getting into.
I’ve seen a lot of terrible experiences on this sub, and I’m wondering if there are more things I should be aware of.
Main questions:
- How true is it that most associates get promoted within the first year? (My intention is not to stay in customer service forever.)
- How difficult is it to deal with calls all day? What types of problems are the most common?
- I keep reading about metrics — how absurd are they? And how much tolerance do they have?
