Hi there!

I have a son that is finishing up his Freshman year in high school (TX). He would like to attend either UT Austin or Texas A&M, and major in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Astrophysics.

He is in all GT classes, and is currently in AP Human Geo. Despite our urging, he has not joined any clubs this year.

He is taking at least one, 4 point class every summer. Next school year he will be taking 2 AP courses, be in the Aviation program through our district, and would like to join the astronomy club. He also has an opportunity to intern for a ‘rocket ship company’, the summers between his junior and senior years.

His unweighted GPA is a 4.0, weighted is a 4.98 (sorry, was off and had to change that) (as of last semester). We don’t have his rank yet. I’m hoping he will know when he gets his report card.

What type of advice could you give me as a parent to help guide him:

A: In the right area as far as clubs he should join?

B: Which classes would be most beneficial?

C: If he were accepted into both schools, which would be the best pick, and why?

Any and all other information I might need would be great as well! Thank you so much in advance!

My daughter is getting married in Grand Rapids next month, and I’m trying to figure out brunch for the morning of.

*What type of brunch type foods and pastries would you recommend I have on hand for the bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding, while they are at our Airbnb getting their hair and makeup done?

*Any suggestions on places to order from would be amazing as well.

*Also, could you recommend a great, local coffee place that we could order a couple of different kinds of coffee from?

We are from Texas, so we don’t know where the best and yummiest places to go to are.
