[Discussion] What PVE PMC bots actually do during raids

Jbobyh goes through Tarkov mechanics, and you shouldn't sleep on this youtuber. Unfortunately this vidya is in russian only, but with english subtitles. It's POV of a PMC bot in two factory raids.

I mean, they are doing... something, I suppose, but man that was a underwhelming POV.

[Discussion] Pay the Fare! gives 5 IB keys, daily quest gives 1 key.

Man, this is worse than the requirements for entering Labyrinth. My daily quest was a "Find and transfer" of a random item. No idea if it's always that, or it can change. So I suppose due to Tarkov quest RNG idiocy, some days you won't even be able to enter IB because the operational quest is impossible to complete.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

[Discussion] 1.1.5.0 Changes to Icebreaker - task item for entry, less XP (all modes)

To prevent a situation where Icebreaker becomes the primary way to progress through the Leagues, we’re planning to make several changes to the location’s entry requirements and the amount of XP earned there.

Entry to Icebreaker will no longer require payment in roubles. Instead, you’ll need a new item: a ship repair tool kit. Initially, you will obtain it by completing a new Ragman task. That will also unlock a new type of operational task, for each completion of which you will receive several of these tool kits.

The amount of XP earned from eliminating Wedge, his guards, and Black Division operatives on Icebreaker will be reduced.

In addition, the XP multiplier for transits will be adjusted. It will now increase more gradually, starting from a lower value than before for 1-2 transits but keeping the previous values for 16 or more.

These changes will be introduced with update 1.1.5.0 and will apply to all game modes - Seasonal, PvP, and PvE. #EscapefromTarkov

They never saw it coming-style of cards. Your tips?

I'm looking to add some really out of character cards to my different decks, doing what's not expected for the colors I've chosen. Looking for your best candidates. Here are some examples to show what I mean:

[[Darkness]] - A black fog

[[Molten Influence]] - A red counter with a decent downside, but way cheaper than [[Tibalt's Trickery]]

[[Imp's Mischief]] - A black deflecting swat, with a downside that can be an upside for certain decks

I'm trying to keep cards under 10 bucks each :)

ELI5: Remove Enchantments

I want to use this as a panic button for my enchantment voltron deck. I have not read an explanation that is short and sweet. Does such an explanation exist, or will it inherently be complicated because of how the card works? I want to explain the card to my opponents, without giving them a headache.

[Discussion] QoL: Make every BD group on IB have a gas mask

I find it quite annoying to have to bring one. Just make one in each BD grouping be guaranteed to wear one. Though, for lore sake, all of them should be wearing gas masks since they toss gas grenades.

I already see some neckbeards typing "That makes the game easier". Counterpoint: I run IB without bringing a green flare or big backpack, because they're available on the map - for player convenience.

Ivy, Gleeful Spellthief + Go Nuts!

I read this card a few ways, and I'm trying to figure it out. If I use Go Nuts! with Teamwork 3, can Ivy copy the spell?

I've racked my brain and come up with:

Yes

No

Yes, but only if I target the same creature with both effects

[[Go Nuts!]]

[Discussion] Skill issue - but can we make the euro cost to exfil part of the warning when you enter a map?

Cleared IB up to the heli probably 30-40 times by now, and this time I forgot mah euros. Please make a warning if you enter the map without it, just like with the rubels. Or keycard for labs.

There's literally no point entering the map without euros, anyways.

[Feedback] There are no outages in Tarkov. Never!

The hackers are committing suicide by the hundreds at the data centers of Terragroup.

My feeling, as usual, is that we will slaughter them... their tombs will be here in Russia.

I am not scared, and neither should you be!

[Discussion] Does BD ignore headshots? And were my black limbs the reason I got shot in the head?

Cleared Icebreaker up to heli 20+ times now. Zero times have I been headshotted. Then on my last run, it happened on the helipad. The difference was that I had 3 black limbs this time (2 arms, 1 leg).

Does BD normally ignore headshots, but then also ignore black limbs, and somehow the fact that I had so few body parts to shoot at cause them to headshot me? Or have I just been lucky to have been shot in the head once in about 30 runs?

[Discussion] Just got this when i logged in. Why?

As soon as I logged in was met with this screen that scrolled for ever and then some. Stock M4, MK17, G36 with separate weapon parts parts to make decent builds, scopes, attachments, 500 rounds of SSA AP, 100 M993, a handful of stims, meds and food. Like a force fed promo code.

I'm not complaining, but I've got no idea why. Mate got the same.

[Discussion] Myth busted: Background does NOT affect your FPS. You're welcome.

tl;dr: Background makes no difference.

I was annoyed at a helpful samaritan getting downvoted into oblivion in another thread. His claim was that background choice no longer made a difference for your FPS (it used to). So here's some data I gathered to back it up.

Hardware: Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5090, 32 GB 6000 MT/s DDR5

Settings: 1080p, everything to lowest

Scenario: Offline corner of Factory, no bots. Together with low settings and resolution we can ensure nothing and no GPU / CPU bottlenecks come in the way of what we want to measure - if the background makes a difference.

Methodology: With the software CapframeX I recorded FPS values over a time period of 30 seconds per background.

Results: Average FPS ranges only 5.6 FPS across all four backgrounds (469.4 to 475.0), and 1% low FPS varies by just 4.1 FPS (393.3 to 397.4). That's a spread of roughly 1.2% and 1.0% respectively - well within the margin of error between benchmark runs.

No background is meaningfully faster or slower than another.

Background Average FPS 1% low FPS
Factory 470.8 395.4
Woods 474.2 396.8
The lab 475.0 397.4
Unheard 469.4 393.3
